That's Not A Spot!

Dear Certain Lazy PreK Parents,

Stop making up your own parking spots. There are plenty of spots to choose from. Yes, unfortunately, it might be further away from the door. But aren’t we supposed to be teaching our children that it’s okay to walk?

Stop parking wherever you want. This is not a spot:

Nor is parking at the end of an aisle.

Park in a designated spot. You know, the area with lines around it?

If you do not, don’t be surprised if you find eggs all over your vehicle some day with a note that reads “I was egg-streamly annoyed that you did not park in a regular spot.”

Thank you,
An-irritated-parent-who-does-not-want-to-be-blocked-in-by-lazy-ass-you

Anyone else deal with people who don’t park in a spot?

  3. It's one of my pet-hates in carparks.

I used to work in a shop that backed on to an alley. We had gates between the back of our shop and the alley with enough room for us to park our cars in - however we were forever being blocked in by cars that parked across the gates.

Unfortunately, with the shop closing at past midnight and the alley being so small, it just wasn't possible to get tow trucks down to remove them.

The shop owner invested in two really high quality racing-jacks (designed for lifting and transporting engine blocks & car-bodies with no tyres) and whenever someone blocked us in, we'd jack the car up, push it into the very end of the alley and put it on such an angle that the only way to get it out would be to cause damage by a 45 point turn :)

As long as we didn't damage the vehicle while moving it, the police told us it was perfectly legal.

  4. HAHAHAHAH!!! The parking lot next to my office has had it's fair share of people making up their own parking spaces. Before I started parking in the back, I got blocked in once. The guy had the nerve to park ON the yellow X marks that also read in bright white: DO NOT PARK.

  7. We play parking games with our *bleep!* neighbors, on a daily basis. This is the first time we've ever NOT had our own garage and driveway. We have to park on the street. There are lines (image that!!!) for each spot. Our neighbor has two cars and parks one in front of our spot and one behind it, in their designated spot. BUT...they park both either over the line, or right up to the line, making it impossible for us to park.

I may do the same thing if they are away and I'm parking.

Paybacks are a bitch. So am I!!!

  9. Every day, two times a day at elementary school. Parents are too lazy to park out further and block the aisles. I can't stand it!

  13. Our daycare / preschool has 4 regular spots in front and one handicapped spot. There are a few people (the same ones over and over) who have an extremely hard time parking BETWEEN the lines. They park so crooked that they can literally take up three of the spots! I had to stop complaining in the car because my daughter started mimicking me "do those people not know how to park like a real person momma?".

  16. I have a major problem with that at school all the time. There are only certain spaces the students are allowed to park in, and I drive a single cab, long bed Dodge... not the biggest truck, but it doesn't squeeze through slim places very easily either. The other girls have a major problem with creating their own parking spots, which block off the exit. When you come into the parking lot from the alley (which is my customary way of entering since that's the only way I can generally get my truck into their tiny parking lot) you have to go down one aisle one way, then turn around and go through the other side the other way. When I pull in I drive through the correct way looking for a spot, then when I can't find a spot there I'll try to drive to the other side and guess what... There are normally at least 2 vehicles just parked against the concrete which normally wouldn't be considered in my way except that some jerk always decides to park in the area that has the lines criss crossing it MEANING ITS NOT A DANG PARKING SPOT! So then I'm faced with shoving vehicles out of my way with my rolling tank of a truck, or putting it in reverse and backing all the way back to the alley. I usually have to create my own parking spot just so I can get in the stupid school and clock in. I always make sure that my made up parking spot does not block the alley or the rest of the parking lot. I understand that sometimes you do have to create a spot, however when you do so, don't take up the whole damn area so other people can't get through!

  17. LOL - Oh my word. People are lazy. I went in to pick up a take out order at a restaurant and when I left to get back in my car there was a car parked right behind my car ( not in a parking spot). I went back in to ask around to find this moron and she was standing in line waiting to pay for her to-go order. She had the nerve to say "It's my car but I'm waiting to get my food". I responded "Oh, does that mean I have to wait with you?" She then went and moved her car. Some people baffle me.

  18. That's one of my (many) biggest annoyances about drivers. I especially hate people who will park right at the door at places like Wal-Mart, while someone in the vehicle runs inside. There are no-parking signs there for a reason.

  19. One of my biggest pet peeves. Lazy and LATE parents.

  20. Big pet peeve! Our daycare has pretty limited parking at prime drop-off/pick-up times. There is one mom who 90% of the time parks illegally in handicapped or takes up two spots, or just makes up her own spot in the corner of the lot. HUGE pet peeve. Doesn't help that her kid keeps biting mine!

  21. I love your "egg-streamly" comment! I really don't get why it is so hard for people to just f*ing walk! I mean it is why God gave you legs!

  22. Lol, yep! I get "egg-streamly" irritated with that too!

  23. This is why I'm glad my husband talked me into letting our son ride the bus. I would be pissed off all the time!! LOL.

  24. Yes I helped my sis with carpool several times and kept wanting to get out and tell all those parked in the drop off only lane that they were doing it wrong.

  25. My stupid neighbors down stairs can't seem to park between the lines. They either park crooked or take up two spaces. They even used the lot to have a yard sale once. Fuckers.

  26. This would drive me nuts. I say egg away:)

  27. Oh I hate that too! They have a bunch of pictures on That Will Buff Out where people create their own parking spaces, and take up multiple spots...so rude!
