I love cookies.
People know this.
It's why I received messages like, "Did you see the new Chips Ahoy cookies? The ice cream flavored ones?"
I heard about them. But I could't find any in stores.
I was getting irritated.
Especially when people kept talking about how tasty they were. Well. For the most part. Some weren't impressed.
I went to the commissary one day and my heart started beating quickly when I saw this display:
Finally!
I could try the ice cream cookies!
Only.
The display didn't have ANY of the ice cream flavored cookies! Only the regular ones. I circled it like three times and scared the elderly people shopping there. They probably thought I was high.
"This is a TEASE," I muttered, which probably frightened the customers around me even more. Ahh, she's talking to herself too!
It took another week and then the store finally had the proper cookies in.
I got these:
I thought, "I should drag Tommy from his cave and help me taste this."
He's 12. He's in his room playing video games a lot. Or watching YouTube videos. His room usually smells like a Taco Bell fart and dirty feet. It sort of smells like what I imagine Lindsay Lohan's breath to smell like.
"Tommy!" I called.
"WHAT?" he answered.
I disturbed the bear.
"Do you want to help me try cookies? There are a lot of kids who would love to be in your position. Some kids aren't allowed cookies, if you can believe it. I didn't get cookies growing up. I got fruit. Which, don't get me wrong, is delicious, but sometimes you want a cookie. You should never deny a child a cookie. Michelle Obama would disagree."
"You talk a lot," Tommy said from behind me. His hair was poking up all over. I have to remind him to brush it.
"Running your fingers through your hair doesn't count," I've said many times.
"Try a Root Beer Float cookie," I offered.
Despite his face, he liked it.
I did too.
I mean, it's not as tasty as a REAL root beer float, but it's a tasty cookie.
Then we opened the Mint Chocolate Chip flavor.
"I like this one the best!"
That's one of his happy faces. Ahh, the life of a tween.
I agreed with him though. The Mint Chocolate Chip flavor was better.
I might try the Dulce De Leche next. I will NOT try the mocha, as coffee flavored stuff makes me want to throw up all over the place.
If you only wanted to buy one flavor, I'd go with the Mint Chocolate Chip.
Cookies.
Yum.

ReplyDeleteI just saw these the other day! I am not convinced on the root beer float, but I will definitely give the mint ones a try! :)-Ashley
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by these.
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely go for the mint ones.
I discovered the amazing salted caramel ones but not these ice cream ones yet- shopping trip now needed!
ReplyDeleteHow do they come up with so many flavors?!
ReplyDeleteI just want the candy corn Oreos to come back!! I don't like regular Oreos but I put away about a pack every 2 days of these other ones for 2 weeks - part of why I don't try new stuff often - I'm like an addict!!!
Glad Tommy helped with the taste test!!!
Im a hardcore cookie addict, but I have to say that I was not a fan of either of these!!
ReplyDeleteFour flavors - uh oh!? Could I keep up?? I thought it was only two.
ReplyDeleteAnd noted about the coffee flavor!
And I love Tommy's shirt!
I think the Mint Chocolate Chip would be my favorite as well. I agree with you on the coffee flavored stuff. I'll have to convince a friend to buy some so I can try one! Goodness knows I don't want a whole bag of cookies around!
ReplyDeleteHaha this is hilariously written ("what I imagine Lindsay Lohan's breath smells like"). I'm glad you two liked the cookies!
ReplyDeleteCookies! I absolutely love cookies! I really like your blog! I'm glad that I found it! It would be nice if you could stop by my blog sometime too (I'm from England) as I post my outfits, personal style, likes and much more :) :)
ReplyDeleteRaindrops of Sapphire
Mint chocolate chip is my favorite flavor of anything. I must find and try these! Also, his face is priceless lol!
ReplyDeleteOooo the mint ones sound yummy! I agree that no one should be denied a cookie. Sorry, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteAdopt me. I'll drop everything and taste cookies with you, no questions asked.
ReplyDeletemint chocolate ANYTHING is a win in my books.

Vodka and Soda
I think I could go for a mint chocolate chip cookie!!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at mint & chocolate.
ReplyDeleteHere in Australia we call them biscuits and I do love a good mint chip one as we don't do root beer floats. I think they're similar to what we call Spiders, ice cream in soft drink, or soda.
ReplyDeleteI like cookies too. In fact I think I am going to make them tomorrow. I have one cookie recipe that I have never burnt, so I think it might be my lucky cookie. (I burn most desserts.) I'm with you, kids should not be denied cookies. Except when they take the last one and I was saving it for me. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe two you didn't try seem like the ones I like best.
ReplyDeleteI don't like mint flavored stuff. Too toothpasty.
