Who all loved the movie Annie from the 80s?
I did!
I watched it so much that I broke countless VHS tapes.
I listened to the soundtrack so much that I broke cassette tapes.
Did you hear there is a re-make of Annie?
This version mixes up the version you might remember. To be honest, when I first heard about it, I was irritated that everything was changing. But. I will give it a fair chance.
The movie is still about an orphan named Annie, played by Quvenzhane Wallis. Miss Hannigan is played by Cameron Diaz. I am interested to see how that turns out. There might be changes, but it seems like the spirit of the movie will still be there.
I mean, there's still the song Tomorrow.
Check out New Yorkers singing the song:
Can you sing the song Tomorrow? Make a video of yourself doing it with #AnnieMovie and you can end up in the fan cut version .
I'd do it, but my voice is awful and I might scare people.
The new version of Annie comes out on December 19th!

I had the Annie soundtrack on record album!
ReplyDeleteI can sing it.
ReplyDeleteAs in, I know the words.
However, I would never commit that atrocity to video.
OH no no no no. NO NO NO NO. Who can replace the red haired shirley and Daddy Warbucks?! Nooooooo. Will the new Daddy Warbucks be bald with the wide mouth? THAT is Daddy Warbucks. And Carol Burnette as the awful orphanage-- no. That movie ought NOT to be replaced. No.
ReplyDeleteSo I teared a bit when I saw the preview for the new Annie. I loved the first one so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've ever seen the entire movie - maybe I should watch it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know that my version of "Tomorrow" is mostly made up words because I don't know all of them.
No only can I sing it...I am singing it right now!! I love all things Annie! From the first time I saw the previews for this remake, I could not wait! I'm so excited that my daughter will have a new Annie version to fall in love with!! --Lisa
ReplyDeleteI can sing it. Terribly. No one needs to see or hear it.
ReplyDeleteThis remake actually makes me sad. Not quite as sad as possibly making Say Anything into a TV show but sad. Cameron Diaz as Ms. Hannigan is HORRIBLE casting.
We watched it with the kids not too long ago and they loved it. They love most musicals! We'll have to check out the new version.
ReplyDeleteIn actually Really excited about it!!!
ReplyDeleteMy childhood favorite.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere... there is even a photo of my sister and I in matching Annie dresses and orange curly wigs. My grandmother made the costumes!
I look forward to showing the old one to Scarlet.. and I suppose the new one too. AFTER the old one.
Also, that video is hilarious. And beautiful too.
The video is awesome!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me!!!
ReplyDeleteI do the best shower rendition of Tomorrow EVER!! Kill it every time.
I can't wait for my girls to watch the original, but I will probably check out this one too.
I hope you win the Annie screening tickets because you are a legit fan!
ReplyDeleteI can't bring myself to see the new version even though my girl crush, Rose Byrne, is in it. I just can't.
