I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up and that the post you link up is a Hey, It's Okay Post. Grab the button if you'd like!

--To not care about football returning. The sport bores me to tears. I'm grateful my husband doesn't watch it much.
--To be taking my kids to Target on Saturday because they are having Star Wars activities. I guess they are releasing new toys from the new movie too. We need the Chewbacca ones.
--To have NOT watched the VMAs because I know I'll go, "WTF?" every five minutes if I do. I heard Kanye is running for President in 2020? Huh?
--To not have a fall wardrobe. I keep seeing these posts about when to bring out your fall wardrobe and I'm all, "But I wear jeans and t-shirts all year long."
--To have a giveaway to win a DVD copy of The Vampire Diaries season 6 or The Originals season 2 here.
--To have gotten an e-mail from a reader thanking me for sharing my Why I Don't Do Fancy Lunches post. She said it makes her feel normal because the mothers around her constantly send their kids to school with crazy lunches. Hey, you aren't alone, I promise!
--To have finally checked out a local donut place called Hurts Donuts. Everything was SO GOOD:

Those donuts look SO good, and I'm not even a big donut fan!
ReplyDeleteYum to the donuts!
ReplyDeleteOh we love football! Lol. Hey it's so much better than baseball.
I have a feeling that bright blue doughnut would stain your lips!!! Honestly, if it weren't for blogs and social media, I wouldn't even know the VMAs were going on. Even if I watched, I wouldn't recognize 90 percent of the songs. I'm so out of touch with pop music. When the Disney generation took over music, I stopped listening.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I don't watch football either. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the VMAs but saw a pic of what Miley was wearing. Yikes!
Football, schmootball. My husband loves it and I couldn't care less. I also didn't watch the VMA's because I don't have cable. I think the last time I saw them was about 10 years ago and I already thought it was a little much. I don't think I want to see it now!
ReplyDeleteMost days my kids eat school lunch because I can't remember to pack anything. I do send them with a snack though. I didn't watch the VMA's because its usually too crazy for words. My wardrobe is the same year round. I add a cardigan in the spring and fall though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, football is a nope in our house as well. I wear the same clothes year round also. I don't get the while "wardrobe" thing. I loved your non-fancy lunch post. I feel the same way, lol. By the way, I was drooling over those donuts, Homer Simpson style!
ReplyDeleteI could care less about football as well. And we just got our annual Football Pool email today and it's bouncing around and around and around. Gross.
ReplyDeleteI love a good donut place, those look amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove this prompt! I'm not a mama yet but I can already foresee the mom judgement (Ie: not having a fancy lunch for my kids) haha that just stuck out to me because I didn't even think that was a thing!

Awesome post! My Facebook feed was full of moms with fancy bento boxes full of organic snacks, "nibbles" (read: sandwiches cut into fancy little shapes) and other nonsense. Geez, just try to make it so your kid gets enough healthy-ish food in the time allotted for lunch! LOL
ReplyDeleteThose donuts look really yummy!
Ahh, football... How unexciting I find you...!! Luckily I am not subjected to that being out here, but soon we have the Rugby World Cup. ZZZzzzs And fall clothes? Hmm. I live in shorts and t-shirts... I wouldn't mind putting on some booties though!!
ReplyDeleteI bought the fancy lunch box.... but the lunches inside are completely boring and I am sure my kids will try trading with the kids that have the fancy dancy stuff. I don't mind a heart shaped sandwich on Valentines, but every other day you will eat your basic sliced cheese and love it.
ReplyDeleteI'd watch the VMA's -- if it was even about music anymore. which it's not.
Doughnuts! I have a serious addiction problem with those things!
ReplyDeletei read that as "hurts so good" which sounds like it could be a true statement! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh man glad I just finished lunch because otherwise I'd want a donut!
ReplyDeleteThose donuts are beautiful and now I want one!
ReplyDeleteTHE VMA recaps are more than enough for me.hahah
