A Farewell To Oklahoma

Dear Oklahoma,

We leave tomorrow. We've been here for almost five years. When we arrived, my son was going into the fourth grade:

My daughter was going into PreK:

And now they're 14 and 9.

We've experienced your snow:

And your tornadoes:

We always had a blast at the zoo:

And the State Fair:

My daughter learned to ride a two-wheeler bike here:

And my husband deployed multiple times:

Not many people seem to know how to drive properly here. But they do know how to cook. We've enjoyed several restaurants. (This is from Nic's Grill. It was featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives and there's usually always a line out the door. Get there right when it opens at 1030! The burgers are worth it!)

We're leaving you with mostly good memories.

My kids did a lot of growing up here. And they'll miss you. We all will.

I'm not sure if we'll ever be back. But I do know if I ever hear about tornados?

I'll think of you.

Thank you,
Amber

  8. What shocks me is remembering when you moved there which means I've been reading your blog for over five years. Boy does time fly. My daughter is the same age as Natalie, so I feel like I've been watching Natalie grow up along with my nine year old. We're thinking about moving out of state this summer from the town my husband and I both grew up in, and it's a scary prospect, but I think after seeing your pictures and positive attitude it makes me feel a little less uneasy. Enjoy Texas!
