Look, I won't lie. My cats can be lazy.
They sleep. They eat. They rest. They sleep some more. They eat. They sleep. Are you noticing a pattern here?
We have two cats, Max, who is 11, and Ruby, who is 2, and they go through lots of food and litter. It's why I'm so glad Petsmart is having a deal:
Sometimes I worry my cats aren't moving enough. Their health is important, so I always like to come up with ways to keep them moving. Here's what I do to get them on their paws.
1. Play with them! I mean, duh, a no brainer, but sometimes people forget that cats can play too! They are rather stubborn, but many enjoy a string being dragged along.
2. Teach them tricks.
My cats know they must sit before they get food and treats. Granted, Max sometimes takes a few beats extra, but he's 11, so it's allowed. He always eventually sits.
3. Offer them treats. Shaking the bag gets my cats up fairly quickly. They're all, yay, food!
4. Take the on walks. You can put a cat on a harness. Sometimes they'll move. Sometimes they won't.
5. Give them delicious food.
We get a lot of our treats and food from Petsmart:
It's a wonderful store filled with so many products to keep our cats happy. I like picking them up Purina products, which you can find in the cat section of the store. There are so many different varieties and you can decide which one works best for your kitties:
I personally go for the Purina ONE food:
I also get Purina® TIDY CATS® Litter plus their beloved Purina® Friskies® Party Mix:
For the month of June, if you spend $40 on Purina products, you'll receive a $10 Petsmart Gift Card. All you do is register with your contact information and upload your receipt here. Then you'll receive confirmation and a physical $10 Petsmart gift card will be sent 4-8 weeks later. You can upload your receipt until 7/9/17.
And yes, you can get multiple gift cards for every $40 purchase!
I'm thrilled, because my cats do like their Purina products, and we go through a lot of it.
And then after they eat, we play, even if Ruby gives me a look like this:
How do you keep your pets moving?
(And Ruby says don't forget, buy $40 worth of Purina products and get a $10 gift card to Petsmart! Meow!)
My cat is crazy lazy too! He's been on a strict diet for 5 years and it hasn't done a thing for his weight. haha.
ReplyDeleteSo cool!!
ReplyDeleteCats certainly are lazy! We have a laser light that they love to chase, so they do get their exercise that way. Plus they love to chase each other.
ReplyDeleteNever had a cat, but would love the life of a cat! :) That would be the life! Lol.

Your cat is so adorable, I have to share the tips with my sister.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a cat. I know it is not easy to keep a cat moving. Those are great tips.
ReplyDeleteAww just look at your cats they are so cute! My Mums cat is crazy active, though she is slowing down now she's 17 I think it is.
ReplyDeleteMy good friend has 2 cats that are the laziest animals I have ever seen. LOL! Love your tips for them!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I don't have cats but I do love your way of getting them up and moving! Didn't know you could potentially take them for a walk!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips since keeping pets active is definitely important. Your kitties are adorable and I love that they can sit for treats!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any cats- I can't have them because of allergies, but I think they are certainly cute!
ReplyDelete2 of my cats are very energetic. My little old man still gets around, but not as quickly since he is 20 yrs old!
ReplyDeleteI had never taken my cats on a walk but I have seen a lot of people doing so! Play with them is great, like with a laser pointer. Hilarious too! xx corinne
ReplyDeleteBoth of our pets are very active- the 4 year old dog is always being mistaken for a puppy due to her non stop energy and our 7 year old cat never stops wreaking havok on the house- regardless, we interact with them as much as possible. AT this point keeping their minds sharp is my main focus! #client
ReplyDeleteMy cats are SUPER lazy to! Sad thing is, they are still considered kittens!
ReplyDeleteOne of my clients cat is extremely lazy. When I say extremely, all he does is eat and sunathe and nothing else. He keeps getting fatter I see him. I need to share this post with her!
ReplyDeleteA cat on a harness is the best thing ever!
ReplyDeleteIf you really want to get your cats up and running, you can borrow my dog. She thinks my sister's cat is a tasty treat. It's the worst! But, it does get everyone involved, including me, exercise, so I guess that's something.
ReplyDeleteYour cat is so adorable. My kids have been begging to get a cat and we just may surprise them with one in the next few months.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! We have 2 cats as well and we make sure that they are active and healthy. It's good to find the right food for their needs.
ReplyDeleteMy cat is 15 and super lazy but I imagine I would be too if I was that old in cat years.
ReplyDeleteMy cats can be so lazy. They have lots of toys, so they do entertain themselves that way. We got one toy that they're obsessed with.
ReplyDeleteWe don’t have cats but when we do, I’ll sure apply your tips. You have cute little cats!
ReplyDeleteAdorable pet. We don't own any animals yet but often go to Pet Smart to look at the animals and talk about which pet would make a good addition to our family. My kids prefer a cat or dog.
ReplyDeleteThese are good tips. Your cats are adorable. We currently have two cats that we love.
ReplyDeleteMy cat would eat only Purina One dried food. And only the Indoor version, and only in a small bag, never the big one. She is pretty pretencious when it comes to food. But we don't have so many options like i saw in your photo. I never saw Purina One wet food in our stores. She is an outdoor cat as well, so I don't worry about her exercise routine. More like if I forget to let her out form more than a day, cause then the devastation begin.
ReplyDeleteI've never owned a cat but these tips sound like gems! I kinda want a kitten now!
ReplyDeleteGreat post for cat owners. I really didnt know you could teach cat tricks I thought they were too stubborn for that but I am sure with good training and love you can!
ReplyDeleteMy cats know one trick. I gather them around me and I say the magic command, "Be Lazy." And they do. They are such smart cats. LOL. Seriously though, I think Purina is a great brand for pet food. We've been feeding them to our cats and dog and they've always been happy and healthy.
ReplyDeleteI don't own cats. I only have a dog. Pets are a great part of the family and we treat our dog Maxx not different. I love to play and teach Maxx tricks too.
ReplyDeleteYour cats are adorable and I can see that you have got your hands full. Petsmart sounds like a great place for all the pet needs.
ReplyDeleteEver since giving birth to my daughter our cat has been a bit neglected I have to admit. He's not really lazy but I love that you are looking for ways to keep them busy and healthy
ReplyDeleteI don't have cats because I am deathly allergic to them, but I can see how keeping a cat amused can help prolong its life span. And don't we all want to pamper our pets?!?!
ReplyDeleteYour cats are beautiful. I love the second suggestion of teaching them tricks.
ReplyDeleteYour cats are so lovely! These are great tips. I always wondered whether you can do something to make your cats move, or they just have to be in a mood. ha ha
ReplyDeleteI have pet cats in the house! I love them so much! They could be lazy or playful at times! But I don't mind.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a cute cat there. And it does look like they have great products. I really wish that I didn't develop and allergy to cats. I really did love the ones that I had before I couldn't handle them much anymore.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute! I worried about them with their long hair when your AC broke. I like Purina products and that is a good deal at PetSmart.
ReplyDeleteRuby is so cute!
ReplyDeleteMy cat is still so young that she gets the zoomies several times a day. I will use these tips to make sure she stays that way!
Someone came to school pickup with a cat on a harness last week! Everyone noticed.
We don't have a cat but we have a dog! Keeping our pets moving keeps them healthy.
ReplyDeleteAhaha, I have the opposite problem. I'm lazy, my cat is pretty active and gets annoyed with me when I don't play with him ALL night long. I've bought a harness for George, he hates it! But once he's in it, he's ok. Though he doesn't always move. Ha
ReplyDeleteHow fun. I gotta share this with my cat friends!
ReplyDeleteWhat great cats and they are so cute. It was really helpful. My parents just adopted a neighborhood cat and I'm so excited to play with it.
ReplyDeletePet Smart is the best store for fur babies! And yes, it's so important to keep them moving.
ReplyDeleteGreat deal! Looks like I'll have to get out to PetSmart. My cat is pretty lazy, too, except for at like 2 in the morning when she likes to run around like crazy. Gotta love cats.
ReplyDeleteYou are full of fun tips. I am not a cat person .But couldn't stop laughing at the cute pics
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get my cats to move less. All I see are these furry little lightnings darting all over the house. Crazy little things.

My cat will only eat the Purina ONE cat food.
ReplyDeleteMy cat is very active and loves to scratch up all the furniture in the house. He loves a mixture of wet and dry food and enjoys creating his own playtime by running up and down the stairs.
ReplyDeleteYour cats are so adorable! It is important to keep our pets moving so they can get some exercise.
ReplyDeleteCat nip is something all cats love and it gets them moving. My brother will like this post because he has a cat so I will have to share this with him. Thanks for sharing this awesome information and a great deal for June.
ReplyDeleteYour pets are adorable, I have never had a cat because I'm allergic. I have had dogs before and I loved them.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before. https://a1pioneer.com/
ReplyDeleteGreat write-up, I am a big believer in commenting on blogs to inform the blog writers know that they’ve added something worthwhile to the world wide web!.. Cats
