Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude.

Hey, It's Okay....

....to have not really care about the eclipse. I mean, it's cool, but....meh. More concerned with Game of Thrones.

....to actually be driving when the eclipse is supposed to happen. Eek! But my son has a check up today.

.....to still be unpacking from our vacation.

....to be ready for my kids to go back to school on the 28th. Waking up early is tough, but the quiet is pleasant. I can get so much accomplished.

....to still need to get some school supplies! I've been procrastinating. Plus it's hard when one kid is in high school--you don't really know what they'll need until they bring home the teacher's syllabus.

....to think my daughter picked out a strange backpack. This is Gudetama.

  1. We are excited for the eclipse, but I know a few people that could care less. I've always been into space, though.

  2. It's okay is the best thing we can ever tell ourselves. I LOVE your daughter's backpack, actually. I think it's super cute.

  3. I'm kind of with you on the whole eclipse thing. I think it was neat, but I did not go out and buy in glasses to go look at it. I figure I can see it online if I want to and I'll be all good.

  4. More concerned about GoT too! What an episode, omg! and i am going on holiday next week so i'll have to wait an extra week for the final! I am a master procrastinator! no shame here ahah

  5. Couldn't agree more: I always try to make an effort to unpack from vacation but sometimes, well, you just don't want to! I am notorious for keeping things in my luggage for months and months!

  6. I just watched the eclipse and it was really cool! But I also know a lot of people who weren't really interested in it. I can't believe it's time for back to school already, it still feels like the middle of summer to me!

  7. I always seem to be unpacking for ages after we get back from holiday - we actually still have a couple of bags left from last time we went away as we have no idea where to pop the items!

  8. Yeah I'm feeling the same way about the eclipse. It just wasn't something that I was interested in.

  9. Haha I should do this! Yes it is okay not to care much about the eclipse - or Game of Thrones in my case LOL! I also do love her backpack - I guess I am strange too. XOX

  10. Glad we witnessed the eclipse. It was nice seeing everyone come together on one accord. Most exciting few minutes but now it's back to reality and back to school. *sigh*

  11. I too was not over the moon about today's eclipse. After all, I was taking food photography photos and it blocked my light! Hahahaha... I love your daughter's backpack. It's very unique. :-)

  12. I did not care about the eclipse much either, and since it was cloudy and rainy here today, that worked out perfectly. I think the backpack your daughter chose is adorable!

  15. Love that you are fine just doing your own thing! I love Game of Thrones too.. last episode was just so sad, definitely shook things up. My daughter thinks Gudetama is pretty cool too (no idea how to spell that!).

  21. I was so excited for the eclipse! We got clouds but still saw it get dark, which was cool.

  22. We all have different interest in life. Do what makes you happy momma always tells that to me. Im so lucky we do not have to drive to witness the solar eclipse. I live on the area where the total eclipse will be visible. So we watch it on our own backyard. Though I spend money for the eye gear to add fun in this event.

  23. Haha I have to agree with you there. I was definitely more excited with Game of Thrones than an eclipse. Give me white walkers anyday! x

  24. Love your list. We were excited for the eclipse yesterday! We homeschool, but were super excited to get started again.

  25. Yep. I agree. That's a strange backpack - but it's hers. LOL :) I would like to add that It's Ok that I drink coffee at midnight. I'm a blogger and can set my own hours :D

  26. That is a really interesting backpack! We were excited for the eclipse yesterday, but it was overcast where we were at for most of the morning. However, today it was sunny at 7:30 am - of course! Ha ha

  27. I need to tell myself It's Okay more often. I am not very forgiving of myself.

  28. I have to tell myself its okay quite a few times. And telling myself its okay to tell myself can be a horrible experience. I am my own worst enemy.

  29. I didn't care about the eclipse much either. We should tell ourselves to be Ok more often because we get stress out way too much. Thanks for sharing.

  30. YES on not making such a big deal about the eclipse. People I know were losing their damn minds over it and I slept through it. HA!! #NightShiftProblems

  32. I don't care about the eclipse but I'm interested with it because it is pretty amazing. And it's okay

  33. I honestly didn't care about the eclipse either but my husband had a welding helmet so we watched a little!

  34. I have always been fascinated by astronomy, but I'll admit that a lot of people took the fun out of the eclipse by overhyping it. But alas, I ended up missing it anyways since I had a dentist appointment during the time that it occurred.

  35. I saw it on TV. I like the eclipse lol its pretty cool how it gets dark during the day and then the sun shines brightly.

  36. I actually find the eclipse pretty cool but I am more hyped up for the next episode of Game of Thrones. And I must say your daughter has a taste for peculiar designs.

  37. That was the second time that I've seen a solar eclipse and just like the first time, I found it really amazing. :)

  38. My son was excited even though we don't get the full total eclipse where we are. I just love watching his enthusiasm. I personally think solar eclipse is pretty cool!

  39. That backpack is definitely okay. And what a fun idea for a blog post!

  40. Thank you for these good reminders! :) :) Love the backpack! :)

  41. I'm really looking forward to the season finale of Game of Thrones after the last two great episodes. If the backpack makes her happy why not be ok with that. Are those baby chickens hatching from eggs on it or some type of pokemonish character?

  42. I just LOVE the name of your blog. LOL, I had the same feelings about the eclipse. Here in Louisiana, if you blinked you missed it. For a few minutes it was like a very wispy cloud floated by. If it hadn't been all over the news and everyone's Facebook feed, I'd have never known it had happened.

  43. LOL I ended up going down in the basement with the kids during the eclipse. Did get around to buying safety glasses and felt too lazy to DIY a bx lol

  44. Very funny post. Kids have there own sense of style and sometimes it seems like its deliberately the opposite of ours :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I wasn't as invested in the eclipse that much either, so it's okay!! I do love your daughter's backpack though!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I never got the chance to watch the eclipse. My kids kept me super busy then I passed out. lol. Mom life!
