Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.

Hey, It's Okay....

....to be annoyed that people in Texas are freaking out over gas, causing stations to run out. There's only been a slight delay in delivery and if people continued to get gas as they normally would, there would be no shortage. The PEOPLE are causing the shortage. So far I'm at half a tank and haven't had to wait in the hour long lines, but if I do, I'm going to be livid. Come on, San Antonio. Be smarter than this. I think people are beginning to relax, because the lines haven't been as crazy, but who knows?

....to have done nothing for Labor Day. Because I don't want to waste the gas and have to wait in long lines because people are being ridiculous. Ugh.

....to still be wearing white after Labor Day. Who came up with that dumb rule anyway?

....to be impressed that Natalie is learning how to make stop motion movies with her Littlest Pet Shop figures.

....to be going to try the glazed pumpkin spice donuts at Krispy Kreme on Friday. It seems the glazed ones will only be pumpkin spice flavored for one day only (but they do have other pumpkin spice products available throughout the fall!)

....to love our Labyrinth shirts. I taught my kids from a young age that this movie was magical:

  2. Hmm, I've never heard/seen Labyrinth...! Will have to check it out! And yeah, seriously, why can't you wear white after Labor Day?!?! Hmrph

  3. I do have a pair of white pants that wi be worn again regardless of the rule. I forgot about the donut. I must write this down on my agenda!

  4. Gas prices went up over 50 cents a gallon up here in Massachusetts because of it. Grrr! We didn't do anything for Labor Day either.

  5. My daughter and her family had us over for Labor Day for a cookout. I'm old school and it's hard for me to wear white after Labor Day - unless I'm at the beach OR unless it's winter white - OK - I do wear white after Labor Day after all. :)

  6. I have white jeans but it's never cool enough in the summer to wear them, lol! Hope you survive the gas crisis.

  8. We experienced long lines at the gas stations some time ago due to strikes and it was no fun at all. I feel your pain!

  9. I love those shirts! The Labyrinth is such a classic! The gas prices have gone up here too which is crazy because it shouldn't affect us in Ohio.

  10. What's this Krispy Kreme is going to make their original hot glazed donuts as pumpkin spiced glazed donuts for the day? That could be good! I know they have a pumpkin spice cake donut. Yesterday, we passed the KK and I noticed a sign advertising pumpkin spice. I automatically thought of the cake version. If I'm understanding you right then I will have to tell DH because he's a huge donut lover!! This is my first time linking up. Have a great week!

  11. I love Labyrinth and love that you passed the appreciation on to your kids! I had no idea KK was doing pumpkin glazed donuts! Unfortunately I no longer live close to one!

  12. Yeah, it's definitely ok to just rest on labor day. We all need to rest. It's also ok not to be ok when things go crazy though in the end, we just get used to it.

  13. You crack me up! I will wear white after Labor Day just because they say you shouldn't! LOL

    1. Honestly I've never heard of that before, is there a reason you shouldn't wear it? Is it meant to be bad luck?

  14. Hurricane Sandy landed on our head. Our area went without many things including power and gas for many days. When we could get out to get gas there was a shortage that led to long lines and limited availability. Of course they're worried about the gas.

  15. Your shirts are awesome! Love them. I remember people freaking out about gas here it always makes it so much worse which is a shame.

  16. People cause all kinds of things which only makes it harder on everyone else. We always plan ahead to bad most people don't.

    ReplyDelete
  17. It's totally okay! Most people worry way too much about what "others" will think. Who are these others and why do we care what they think?

  18. I love wearing white any time of year. Not sure who created the fashion rule, but I love breaking it!

  19. I don't get the white after labor day rule, it's ridiculous.

  20. Is pumpkin spice back? I really need to check starbucks out as soon as possible. That pumpkin spice latte is just the best! Might try glazed pumpkin spice donuts too! Hopefully they have it here in the UK

  25. I'm really interested with the pumpkin donuts. Just read it in another blog. I hope we have it here in my country. Yeah, I agree with you, it's okay.... for me I don't think much about what people will say.

  26. The no-white after Labor Day rule is so silly! It seems ancient haha - I wear white all year round! I love a good winter white!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I did not know the reason for that silly rule, but I tried to read about it and it was nothing more than something related to fashion. Ugh. I like white tops. It is just so neat looking and very easy to accessorize.

  28. I did not do anything on Labor Day too, so don't feel bad about that. If we had guests over, I would have slaved over the grill, but since it was just me and the fam, we just had a nice filling, easy to prepare lunch which we all enjoyed together.

  29. I have always worn white after labor day. We wanted to avoid the crowds so we stayed home this weekend as well.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We didn't do much for Labor Day either. Thankfully I was off of work so I could be lazy all day!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hmm.. what is it with Labor Day? No idea for going out since it's kind of freaking seeing people down on the streets? I might do the same :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. We didn't do anything for labor day either! I am sorry about the gas problem. It sounds super frustrating!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yep, it is okay. You are speaking the truth for sure. I love this post and your shirts are great.

  34. Sometimes I feel like people search for things they can panic about, gas being one of them. The white rule is ridiculous. I think the people who dress up to fly on airplanes made that rule up.

  35. People really do need to just relax when it comes to disasters. They happened, now we have to deal with it. I am glad to see you are exhibiting patience. I know some people lost everything, but if their community is anything, it should be helpful.

  39. In life "It is Indeed okay" for many things. If we understand this it goes a long way in removing unwanted stress and anxiety.

  40. I really do love the Labyrinth shirts. I know my daughter would as well. Just purchased her one recently. And that's so cool about the stop motion filming. I just think that's awesome.

  41. These are great topics for Hey It's Okay. I never thought about the gas shortage as being just delayed but it does kind of make sense. Thanks for sharing the information.

  42. Totally agree on still wearing white after Labors day. Those Labyrinth t-shirts look cool though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Absolutely yes to Labyrinth and wearing white, all through winter if you wish. I'm sure winter white is a thing.

    ReplyDelete
  46. My kids still haven't seen Labyrinth but it is magical!
Last time we had a major blizzard and ran out of gas, I realized that humanity would not survive a zombie apocalypse. We're too dumb!
