I have decided I'm going to be a minimalist.
I'm kidding. There's just no way. I like my stuff too much.
However, I did come up with a word of the year.
My word of the year is gratitude for obvious reasons.
I am grateful for my family. I have a husband who works hard in the Air Force. I have a son with autism, but he doesn't let it get him down. I have a daughter who isn't afraid to give her opinion, which can be a quite frightening thing at times.
I am also grateful for Diet Coke. There's no way I could ever give it up. It helps keep me friendly.
I am grateful for chocolate and fries from McDonald's. It's funny, when people post how bad fast food is for you, I immediately want to shove fries in my mouth.
I am grateful for books. I love to read.
Also included: I am grateful for WiFi, awful reality TV, and mobile banking. I'm also grateful for this blog, because I've met some incredible people through it.
I always try to be a grateful person because constantly being negative is a drain on energy. I hope I am raising my kids to be grateful.
So what about you? Do you have a word of the year?

ReplyDeleteThe beginning of a New Year is indeed the time to be grateful for so many things. Many of the things that we take for granted and many of the small and big things people known and unknown have done for us.
ReplyDeleteI love that family photo of you guys. I had to chuckle with the diet coke, but if it keeps you friendly then keep it.
ReplyDeleteThis year I'm trying to be minimalist in all things. I think I can do it. Oh I love McDo's French Fries!
ReplyDeleteGreat word to choose for the year. I like to stop and think about how lucky I am for the people and things I have in my life, especially when things aren't going the way I want them to or I am having a tough time. There are always people a lot worse of than us and I think everyone needs to remind themselves of that from time to time.
ReplyDeleteHaha I'm with you. I love all my stuff way too much. And french fries is my weakness. There is so much to be grateful for. Such a positive post!

ReplyDeleteI still do not have a word for this year. I like your word, gratitude. There are so many things I am thankful for, the most is this job that allows me to stay at home and meet people virtually.
ReplyDeleteTOTALLY agree with your word. Matter of fact, everyday at noon (at least I try to post everyday) BB reminds people to take that #GSOG, #GigaSecondOfGratitude #GospelOfGracias. If heartfelt, a quick Thank You is plenty. Cute post and Gracias for sharing the word. BB2U
