If you only have fur babies, they count too. I consider our cats to be a member of the family even if they do bite me more than I'd like.
My day started with my daughter handing me this:
I thought it was sweet that she took the time to make it on her own. She used to bring me things that she made in school, because she had to, so it means a lot that she still wants to make stuff for me. (And yes, she realizes that she spelled remember wrong. "That darn extra 'em' gets me all the time!")
My son, however, shook my hand and went, "Happy Mother's Day." Still, I'll take it.
We went to visit my Nana Jo and mother, and I got this silly photo, because the regular photo we took made me look pregnant. Here I am explaining to Nana Jo why we had to take another photo. She's nearly 97 and can get impatient when it comes to photos. ("I looked huge and pregnant, Nana Jo, so we need another photo. Sorry.")
When we got home, someone pounded on the door and I thought, geez, are salespeople really out on Mother's Day? But it turns out I got these from my husband:
I also got this:
Yes, I realize this makes me basic. I love rose gold, I can't help it. I'm not a fan of the new millennial pink though, so that's something I guess.
I can't wait for our Disney World trip in October. If we win the lottery, we'll get to go even sooner.
For dinner, I knew the restaurants would be packed, so I opted for my beloved McDonald's, hence why I probably looked pregnant in the above photo. It's just, I love my fries.
The burgers DO taste juicier as the commercials say, but honestly, I'd eat them no matter what.
So that was my Mother's Day. I thought it was pretty fabulous. And it was all because my kids picked me to be their mother:
How was your day?
Happy Mother's Day! I had a good one. My daughter bought me a birthstone ring from Zale's. My oldest son bought me a volleyball net and volleyball. And we ate at a Mexican restaurant. I eat at McDonald's...no shame there. Those flowers are pretty.
ReplyDeleteA mother is everyone’s best friend because she takes care of everything we need. So, to say her thanks and give her respect. She is only one in this world who never leaves us alone.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! What a great way to start your day. Natalie is such a sweet girl. So it's your son. I love McDonald's as well. The fries are just delish.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day! Glad I'm not the only one who asks for photo redo's. I'm the most non-photogenic person in the world and none of my kids are allowed to post a photo of me on social media without my permission. My grown kids cooked for me yesterday and they gave me way too many presents. It was a good day!
ReplyDeleteI love the mouse ears you got! Sounds like you had a good one!
ReplyDeleteNatalie is such a sweetheart! My daughter is sick so we stayed home for MOther's Day,
ReplyDeleteIt went well. My family got me some nerdy things and we had a great day out!
ReplyDeleteAww it sounds like you had a lovely Mother's Day! There is something extra special about handmade isn't there. The card Natalie made you is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great Mother's Day! I was treated to some homemade vegan pancakes with strawberries, lots of hand-drawn cards and pictures and some peace and quiet :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothers Day to you!! It was quite at my home but Mr. G pampered me, so that makes it all good.
ReplyDeleteI had a great Mother's Day my husband with presents and my son's card were both amazing. You look like you had a special day too.
ReplyDeleteMothers Day was good. We attended church as always and spent the day with family, friends and good food.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a great mothers day. My daughter fixed me breakfast in bed. Then my husband made me steak. It was a pretty great day.
ReplyDeleteNatalie's little card broke me - that is so, so sweet! And Nana Jo, LOL! Sorry, more photos! I'm so glad you had a good day and (although slightly belated) Happy Mother's Day! :)
ReplyDeleteI had an enjoyable Mother's Day weekend. Saturday was very busy and Sunday was a much easier day. I love handmade cards and gifts, they're the best.
ReplyDeleteOh my word what a sweet card. You have some amazing children who really love you.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! Especially your rose gold. Nothing basic about you.
ReplyDeleteI only asked for brunch, a new garbage can (ours was a nightmare) and ice cream. Got all three in the first half of the day and then the three of them hid presents for me and got me dinner. So yay!
Sounds like a fun day. My oldest son bought me a fruit thing and my other boys helped me clean up my new office.
ReplyDeleteI was not with my mum yesterday and I am not a mum either so did not really celebrate mother's day. But still had a glorious day hanging out with friends in the sun!
ReplyDeleteI love the recap of your Mother’s Day. Your flowers and Disney ears are so cute. The Mister and I went out for dinner. It was just really nice to relax.

ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful way to celebrate Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to you
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Mine was quiet and simple, which is what I love. I spent the day with my youngest daughter and husband, and we took 92-year old mom to see a movie, which was quite an adventure. We ended the day with a Wendy's Frosty, because they are Mom's favorite thing. All in all, it was a very good Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteIt was an ok (I guess) mother's day for my mom, mom-in-law, and my wife. Nothing extra ordinary. Just a simple lunch together.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a nice Mother's Day. I walked in on my daughter making a card which was for me but I asked her quick make it for my mom because I forgot to get her a card lol. I really want a Quarter Pound with cheese right now lol
ReplyDeleteThat looks like you had a lovely Mother's Day. All of my siblings were home for Mother's Day so my mom was able to have all the kids under the same roof again.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome way to celebrate motherhood.I haven'tthat many generations togetheron a long time. happy you njoyed your day.
ReplyDeleteGosh this is really interesting account of motherhood! Keep the stories coming !
