Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.

Hey, It's Okay....

....to appreciate all the comments I got on my How Many Presents Should Kids Get For The Holidays post. I got many who agreed, while others thought I was harsh. I still stand by my opinion that it is a personal choice on how many presents a parent wants to give their child. No one can say there are certain rules to follow for another family. They can give opinions, but they need to respect that not everyone will agree.

....to have not shopped the Bath & Body Works candle sale. In store, that is. I did find some candles online before they sold out. (For those who don't know, normally candles are like $24.95 but they go down to $8.95.)

....to have taken the kids to see the Christmas lights at Sea World over the weekend. The lights are so beautiful.

.....to be done with my Christmas shopping! I finished the rest the other day. Think Geek had everything 50% off so I got a few things for my son. I'm good to go now. (Well wait, I think there's one more video game he wants, but THEN I'm done.)

.....to think it's ridiculous that people are saying that Rudolph is a troubling movie to show children because Rudolph is bullied within 5 minutes of the film. I mean, really? Really? That's what people are focusing on? Maybe focus on how Rudolph didn't let it ruin is life and he rose above it? Literally. We'll still be watching the movie! And I don't buy in that Baby, It's Cold Outside is a terrible song either.  Enjoy the holidays, guys.

  4. Loved the honesty on this post. We all believe that we require gifts to go with christmas. I feel it is not that necessary. Even small gifts are fine as long as it is given with heart. I hope you go through with ease with ease

  6. I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. And I have what less than three weeks before Christmas. I guess I should probably get started.

  7. I expressed that each family decided the christmas gifts giving and I did a bunch of ordering on line this year. Just not worth dealing with crowds sometimes. Christmas lights are always a must.

  8. I think Rudolph being bullied is kind of the point? I did hear that about Baby It's Cold Outside too.

  9. I never heard that Rudolph being bullied would cause a problem with kids. There is so much more troubling things on television that kids watch to be worried about. Plus I think the story is inspiring how Rudolph triumphs despite this.

  20. I didn't realize anyone was complaining about Rudolph, but I did hear that a radio station in Ohio banned "Baby it's cold outside." But, I'm nowhere near done with shopping!

  21. Ok, the Rudolph thing... it's like we can't have anything anymore without someone blowing things out of proportion or getting offended.

  26. You continually crack me up. Sometimes I just have to laugh out loud reading your posts. Did people really say that about the movie and the song? I have heard so much about bath and body works we don;t have it here but I do visit their store sometimes when I am in the US.

  27. What a great idea to reflect what you have done during the week and stay positive always. I will try if I can do this, I need a little positive in my life right now. Thanks

  28. I'm ALMOST done shopping for Christmas. I heard about the Rudolph and Baby It's Cold Outside. Man, too much time to Over look into things.

  29. Impressive you are finished with shopping already. We don't really exchange gifts with a lot of people, so I am basically done as well. I grew up not receiving many presents, it was more about being together and my husband grew up with #SOMANYTHINGS - we have been trying to balance this for year. It hink he has finally come over to my side!

  30. Enjoying your blog and this post. Growing up Babushka was allowed to as Santa for ONE thing, so you know we really put thought into it. Have a great holiday with your familia.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey it is okay not to send Christmas cards. Think of all the money you save and it is less stressful!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh my goodness, I hadn't heard about the rudolph thing at all but that is plain ridiculous! It is such a classic holiday film!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm so sick of everyone saying Rudolf is a terrible show because he gets bullied. People need to uit getting so offended!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh wow. People are really missing the point if they only focus on the bullying in Rudolph.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think I'm done with shopping too.. or at least mostly. I still have teacher gifts and mailman gifts and all that jazz.
I hadn't heard that about Rudolph! Life itself.. is troubling. If people can't handle five minutes of a reindeer getting teased and then turning into the best reindeer of all?? They're missing the point. Underdog, yo.

  38. I havnt see the Rudolph movie yet! Im interested to watch as we love any Christmas this time of year. Im sure we would love and overlook what others are pestering about!

  39. I love the idea of admitting that some things do not happen because they are beyond our control. On the other hand, it's also good to celebrate small successes, even if they are, well, small.
