I have long hair.
So long, in fact, that I could be the girl from The Ring for Halloween. Or Cousin It.
I like my long hair. I've had long hair for most of my life. But I've found people like to make comments about it. And it's usually the same comments.
Such as:
1. You have so much hair! I mean, duh. It's on my head. I know.
2. Will you ever cut it? Nope.
3. How long does it take to dry? I get asked this a lot to the point where I want to have the answer written down in my purse and just silently hand it over. The answer? I air dry, and it can take 3-4 hours.
4. Do you find hair all over your house? Are you calling me a cat? What? (But yes. Sometimes.)
5. How do you take care of all that hair? Uh, just like you take care of YOUR hair, probably.
I make sure to buy hair products that will work with it. I've been a fan of Formulate since trying it for the first time a few months ago.
It helps with the frizz and makes my hair incredibly soft.
Formulate is a company where YOU get to design your shampoo and conditioner. And yes, it is sulfate, preservative, paraben, and cruelty free.

I'm 59. Have very long gray hair. I don't color it and I make my own shampoo for it. I also air dry it. My sisters all have short hair they color often and love to give me a hard time about my hair, but I'm an old hippie and long it stays. Yours is indeed gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI totally feel your pain! Because I work with small children I frequently throw my hair up in a bun. Because many people don't see how long my hair is, the times it is down its like they've seen a baby deer walk for the first time.

ReplyDeleteMy hair is about the same length as yours these days. I do get a lot of hairs all over the house, but so does everyone. It's just that mine are super long so it looks like more. I tell them one of mine equals three of theirs! Punks. (although Scarlet has really long hair too)

ReplyDeleteI have long hair too, but I want it a little bit longer. I've tried taking hair, nails skin vitamins, but none of them work that great. My hair is really dry & frizzy. The shampoo & conditioner sound great since you can design them to fit your hair type. I always find red hair balls all over the house, not my hubby or daughter's. So weird.

ReplyDeleteI had long hair my entire childhood and into middle school. My mom really liked it. As an adult, I keep it about mid length. I remember hearing a lot of those statements as a child.

ReplyDeleteI always wanted long hair but once it gets past my shoulders it starts getting thin. I have thick hair and keep it shoulder length or short because it's easier to fix. Your hair is very pretty!

ReplyDeleteSuch a good idea on air drying! I used to air dry my hair all the time and I felt it was so much more healthy back then. I have gotten used to blowdrying though.
