We watch Ghost Adventures together, a show on the Travel Channel. Zak, Aaron, Billy, and Jay are investigators. They travel around the world to haunted locations to find evidence.
Oh, and they don't always look so serious. The show can be lighthearted at times, despite the subject matter.
Our favorite is Aaron, because he gets frightened a lot, complete with high pitched man shrieks. Zak usually sends him into the basement with the demon in the house because he's so afraid. Spirits can sometimes latch onto the fear and more activity will occur, you see.
Natalie says if she ever makes it on the show, that while the men are freaking out about who will sit in the basement, she'd be all, "Move aside, boys. I'll handle this."
Natalie once asked, "Why are there no girl investigators on this show? They need one."
There are many reasons why she wants to go on Ghost Adventures, and here are some of them.
She doesn't scare easily. In fact, she enjoys scaring others. We went to the Ohio State Reformatory (yes, Ghost Adventures filmed there before!) and Natalie thought it was hilarious to spook me. I'd turn around and she'd be like:
For the past three years, she's picked some frightening Halloween costumes as well. She was Billy from Saw last year.
Another reason she wants to be on the show? She believes in ghosts. She has never seen one before, but she says she's heard strange things. And felt the presence of ghosts. Same with me. I can feel them, but I'm always like, "Do not appear or I'll scream this house down," and I guess they believe me, because I've never seen one.
My Mom has seen several ghosts though!
Natalie is also brave. She'll go into dark rooms, no problem. While her friends panic, she's all, "It's fine!" She went into this dark room, despite the creepy hand imprints. I was all, "Mommy will stay here, in the daylight, thanks!"
Natalie is in there. Somewhere.
We go to various Halloween activities at theme parks, and Natalie is always singled out because she's small and a girl.
This character said, "I'm going to steal your soul!"
Natalie answered, "Not if I steal yours first."
She dressed as a clown that year, by the way, and I am PETRIFIED of clowns:
Natalie found it hilarious to scare me.
So yeah. She's a pretty cool kid even if she does like to terrify the woman who gave her life.
But hey, Ghost Adventures, if you ever need a female paranormal investigator?
Natalie is available.
(If you want to check out the show, a new season begins this Saturday on the Travel Channel at 8/9 eastern.)
This was such a fun read! There are not a lot of kids out there who are so brave to enter dark spaces and look for ghosts. She would definitely make a great team with the guys from the series.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is braver than I am! I won't watch anything horror because I freak out so easily. She is so funny I love her personality just from reading this post.
ReplyDeleteI love ghosts and I have this same question like your daughter, "Why are not there any girl investigators". However, I really hope her dream gets fulfilled.
ReplyDeleteShe is definitely a cool kid. I love being scared. Everyone else in my house does not. I could not even get them to go to a haunted house.
ReplyDeleteJust like your daughter, my oldest has loved scary movies since she was in elementary school. I can't handle super scary ones, but those are some of her favorites. Like you, I'm terrified of clowns! But Ghost Adventures is a series we'll need to check out!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your blog for many years I know how much she loves spooky movies and all things spookie. Enjoy the Ghost Adventures.
ReplyDeleteof that is so cool! It is great that she doesn't scare easily, that is so awesome.

I hope she manages to go on Ghost Adventures! I have to admit I do enjoy watching it myself as well.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a pretty cool show. She would be perfect to be on it. I hope she gets the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun. My daughter and I like ghost type stuff and while I scare her with the movies and real stuff she is surprisingly brave at haunted houses, it is a lot of fun to do things like this together. I want to check out that place in Ohio.
ReplyDeleteGhost shows are great. Hope she gets the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteShe sounds like my boys. They love to be scared and love all the gory stuff
ReplyDeleteShe is a girl after my own heart! I love all this stuff too! I have boys and they love it but I think it would be so cool to have a mini me to love it too! Mansfield is one of our favorite places to visit! We have done the Halloween events and tours. There's nothing like a good scare!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is so much fun! I can see myself when I was a kid. I like all that spooky stuff and Halloween is my favorite!! Sounds like a fun experience. Love that brave and courageous spirit.

This reminds me the first time we took our kids to a bunker in Korea during Halloween. My son wasn't very happy ha ha ha. Kudos to Natalie.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I don't blame her. My husband loves this show and would freak if he got to go on.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen this show, but I do really love shows like that. I'm not sure I'd want to be on one, but watching them in the safety of my own home, I can do.
ReplyDeleteShe has some great costumes! I think it is great that she is so adventurous and brave. I have a couple of kids who like scary stuff, but they didn't get that from me!
ReplyDeleteUm, no. LOL, I am a scaredy cat! It would be fun to go with her but I would have to wait outside!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on not liking anything creepy. BUT I will say I can go into a dark room, no problem. I wish I was as brave as her tough!
ReplyDeleteShe sounds really cool! I like that she likes to scare you LOL! Maybe she can start her own Ghost Hunters group -- one with girls!
ReplyDeleteNatalie is brave girl. I don't like going in dark rooms and in dark places not that much brave as comparison to her. Will definitely going to watch the show
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, she is amazing! I never liked scary things, I do not even watch suspense or I'll freak out.
ReplyDeleteWow your daughter is a really brave girl! I envy her because I’m so scared to ghost or scary movies or stories.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I am a paranormal investigator with Dusk 2 Dawn Paranormal Investigations. Follow us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/d2dpi/ Natalie is right, there isn't anything really scary about spirits. Most are just lost or afraid to cross over. I love Aaron on Ghost Adventures too. He is awesome! I loved this post!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is into all this scary, creepy stuff but not me lol. I wonder how my kids will feel about this stuff.
ReplyDeleteI use to love watching Ghost Hunters when They were first on. I am fascinated by the paranormal. I saw Ghost Adventures listed on the guide today, but I was getting ready to head out when it was on. I'll have to catch a new or rerun episode.
ReplyDeleteI love love love the photos! It is so good that she does not easily scare. So many kiddos do.
ReplyDeleteSo spooky! Thanks for sharing the fun pictures!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy this blog. Ghost adventure?! It sounds fun and your daughter really got enjoyed. I love those pictures!

this is so cute i thought i was the only one with a daughter that was fascinated in creepy horror things. my 4 year old was annabelle for halloween and weve watched tons of scary movies. lol i kinda hope its a phase because i am a big chicken.
ReplyDeleteKids like to be always excited, they like adventures , I think they dont really touch the horror that we experienced as mature. Their way of thinking is quite different and vary by age. For me I dont like that type of movies. But it is okay some people do. I think it tastes like chili pepper for me.
ReplyDeleteWe love Sea World, before I had my children we would go every year. We took the boys last year and they loved the water section. When they get a little older we will take them again.
