Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.

HEY, IT'S OKAY....

.....to have enjoyed Mother's Day. We went to Freebirds Burritos for lunch, and then McDonald's for dinner. I am fairly easy to please.

....to hate that my daughter has to waste her time taking STAAR tests this week. (They are the standardized tests for Texas. I wrote a post saying why they are harmful to kids.)

....to think it's cool that my Nana Jo is turning 98 on Sunday.

....to not be too surprised about the latest episode of Game of Thrones. I mean, check the history book, royals go nuts all the time. I made this:

  2. Holy cow, my friends are all so disappointed in GOT. I don't personally watch but it was crazy how nuts people went!

  3. We used to have Freebirds here but they closed. Glad you had a nice Mother's Day!

  4. My kids had MCAS last week and this week. I am SO not a fan of standardized testing, but it's a graduation requirement here.

  5. Everyone is obsessing over Game of Thrones. I have never seen it before. I feel like in 4 years time, my husband and I may commit to watching it, but for now, I just don't care.

  6. Happy birthday to your Nana! That's pretty awesome! And I agree, standardized tests not only waste time, they're just not useful. That is one reason I'm glad we homeschool and can skip them!

  7. Happy birthday to your Nana! I think this weeke's GOT episode was much better than the last one, which was very disappointing. One more to go, let's see how it ends.

  15. I think anything is great even if it's the little things on Mother's Day. I took my girls out to a movie for Mother's Day, and that was all I needed.

  16. I also don't watch Game of Thrones so I can't join in the enthusiasm. Yes, that is cool that your nana is turning 98!

  18. That's awesome your Nana is 98! I wasn't surprised by GoT at all, and I can't figure out why everyone is so shocked.

  19. I need Freebirds in my life. We have a lot of vegan-friendly restaurants around town, but that's my favorite when I go visit my niece.

  21. LOL right? It's OK that I did NOT enjoy mothers day. It's OK that I have no idea about anything related to Game of Thrones. ETC. LOL we're all different and THAT is OK too.

  22. She's turning 98?!?!? Holy crap, that's freaking awesome! High five her for me. lol

  23. I had a pretty simple mother's day and its OK!

  24. I didn't get a gift for Mother's Day and that's ok! We are reducing debt, so it would be unrealistic to think of getting a gift.

  25. I hated the state testing for Texas. It really stole time that I could have actually been learning.

  26. Happy birthday to your Nana. Yes my daughter also took star test. I am not that fan of game of thrones.

  28. That Game of Thrones episodes recently are intense. They go nuts most of the time. But still entertaining.

  29. Oh my gosh! Those tests! My daughter's grades have been averagish, so imagine my surprise when the principal calls me in to tell me that she wants to hold my daughter back because of her testing. My daughter just got diagnosed with ADD and she couldn't focus well enough to do that testing.

  32. This is a good idea. We fret a lot about things we should and could just be ok with. This is very motivating.

  33. I agree with this so much. And I know I have never watched even one episode of Game of Thrones but know a lot of people who are obsessed with the show.
