When my husband was deployed, being able to stay in touch was important. He was thousands of miles away, but he'd still call or video chat.
Having a cell phone from Verizon meant I could leave the house and not have to worry about missing a call from him because sure enough, he'd generally call when I was running errands because the time change was crazy. It would be morning for me, but night for him.
He was even able to sort of watch one of my daughter's performances thanks to video chat. I say sort of, because it did freeze a lot, but he caught glimpses.
It helps that Verizon offers a military discount. Each line is $30 a month for 4 lines on Go Unlimited when your enroll in Auto Pay. It's a great deal! You can also save 15% on eligible lines and 25% on select accessories. Learn more about that here.
You can either enroll online or in the store! It's incredibly easy. All my husband did was show his ID card. You can also give a military email address and follow the instructions.
I'm grateful that we have cell phones these days. My Nana Jo, who is 97, tells me the story of how she never knew where her husband was during World War 2. Sometimes you'd get letters, sometimes you didn't. When you did get letters, a lot of it would be blacked out. You just had to hope your loved one was okay.
So yes, I always happy that I still get to talk to my husband when he's deployed.
Mother's Day is coming, and Verizon is having a contest where a lucky military mom can win an $1000 Verizon Wireless gift card. All you have to do is nominate a military mom here. But hurry, it ends May 12th!
My Mom was a Military Mom to me and she was amazing.
I have known many wonderful military moms and I am sure you do as well. So nominate them! I bet they'd love an $1000 gift card to Verizon. Learn more about how and the rules here. It's incredibly easy.
