Why I Love Texas Roadhouse

So Texas Roadhouse is this fabulous restaurant. It's best known for steaks, but that's not all they have.  The decor is best described as eclectic.

(That's my husband and daughter rushing in. It just opened and Tom was like, "Oh crap, there's mini bus full of people, we have to get in before them.")


I mean, where else can you see an armadillo with a beer bottle?

I won't lie, the best part about it are the rolls and the cinnamon butter.

These rolls are UNLIMITED! So you can ask for basket after basket and I won't lie, my family does.

We all get our own thing of butter and scoop the bread into it so there's butter on each bite. Healthy? No. But YOLO. (My son does not do this. He does not like the butter and just eats the rolls as is.)

It's why I could never be on the Keto diet. I couldn't live without my rolls.


Oh, and it's cool that Texas Roadhouse supports the troops.

If your kids are driving you nuts, yes, you can get booze:

I don't get booze though. I go for the sweet tea, which is amazing:

I told my daughter, "Hey, look excited with your roll!" and she was like, "Why?"

So what should you order? Well, they have burgers, salads, chicken, steak, etc...sometimes, yes, I've eaten so many rolls that I barely have room for the real food.


I normally get the 6 oz USDA choice sirloin. You get two sides, so I go for the seasoned rice:

Also, the Steak Sauce is fabulous! I am picky about Steak Sauce. You can buy your own for $5 there, which we've done, many times.

So what was my other side?

Behold the LOADED sweet potato. If you like sweet potato casserole, you'll love this:

As you see, it comes with melted marshmallows, plus cinnamon butter.


My husband went with the chicken caesar salad. He was all, "I'm not waiting around for you to take a photo, I'm hungry," because he didn't stuff his face with rolls like I did.

My son goes for the bacon burger--no cheese, because melted cheese freaks him out.

My daughter got the Steak Bites from the Kid's Menu because she eats like a bird:

Yes, I boxed most of my meal up because I was pretty full.


So if you haven't gone to Texas Roadhouse, you must! Eat a roll (or two, or three) for me!
