What You'll Find In IKEA

Of course I had always heard of IKEA. I haven't been living under a rock, after all. I just haven't ever been inside one. But then they built one about 30 minutes from me in Live Oak, and only about 10 minutes from my mother.

So in case you don't know, IKEA Swedish based store full of furniture and storage. Plus carpet, lightening, fake plants, food, drink, etc....it's the largest furniture store!

We walk in and right away I was impressed by the colorful boxes.

Natalie was a fan of the couch. As you see, rooms are actually set up so you can see what they will look like.

What's also cool is there are working cabinets and such to rummage through. It's the perfect place to play house. Natalie was all, "Oooo what shall I prepare for dinner tonight?"

The bathroom set up was pretty neat:

Natalie thought this couch looked like something from the 80s. Not that she'd KNOW, but she was all, "Oh, I've seen enough episodes of Stranger Things, thanks!"

She loved this room:

I mean, the place is truly impressive. It's huge! There are even arrows on the ground telling you which way to turn.

Natalie liked this seat:

And this comfy lounge:

There's also a cafe in IKEA that we didn't go into. But they are famous for Swedish Meatballs.

Natalie has always liked fake plants:

"Wow, can I get this giant light fixture in my room?" I was all, no, the cats would probably attack it:

This octopus thing for the laundry amused me:

Yup, there are outdoor things too:

She liked this thing:

And here was some of the food. I was amused by the cookies:

This sort of frightened me. There were some strange foods. Well, I found them strange, people in Sweden probably do not.

On the way out, Natalie got a slushie. There's a small cafe with smaller snacks at the front of the store.

It took us about an hour or so to go through the entire store. So what did we buy? Well.

Yeah, just a light that was on clearance. I need to figure out what we truly need. We do need to organized and IKEA can help with that!

Have you ever been to IKEA?

  1. I always get super overwhelmed when I go to Ikea. Ours is near the Mall of America so it's kind of a tourist destination with LOTS of people!

  4. We don't have one close to where I live, but when we go to Chicago, if we have time, I like to see what they have. My husband loves getting their Swedish meatballs. The food court is priced really well!

  5. I love going to IKEA, but my husband hates it. He can never find his way out and won't go with me anymore. Leaves more time for me to shop!!

  9. I've been to the Ikea in Frisco once and I am thinking about going to look for cabinets for my laundry room. I moved to a house that I plan on purchasing soon. Currently my laundry room has the wire shelving and it not only looks ugly but there is a ton of usable space that isn't being utilized. My home lacks storage options and this would increase my storage a bunch. Only bad thing about going to the IKEA in Frisco is toll roads. I might check to see if there is another one closer as they are building more in the DFW metroplex.

  37. I love Ikea and the huge selection that it offers. However, I do find the store itself to be more than a little overwhelming... That being said, I do have quite a bit of Ikea furniture around my house. I just stick largely to online shopping and having the items delivered to the house instead lol

  38. IKEA truly does have just about everything, and it is a one-stop-shop to help you get organized. But, I agree, you have to go in with ideas in mind of what you need, or else you get swept away in the vastness of it all. But, I can usually get swept away in many stores. LOL!
