Rolled Ice Cream At Rolling Rey's Review

I keep hearing about rolled ice cream and knew I needed to try it. If you don't know, rolled ice cream is basically just ice cream made on a steel surface. You mix cream and other flavors on it and because it's super cold, the ingredients freeze quickly and then you roll everything. It'll look like this:

I learned that a rolled ice cream place opened near us and knew I wanted to try it. It's called Rolling Rey's and there are several locations in San Antonio. It is open from 330-9 Monday-Thursday, Friday-Saturday 12-10, and Sunday 12-9.

The menu has various rolled ice cream flavors, plus they do smoothies and Rios Frios. Yup, there's even a vegan mix for the rolled ice cream.

It's a small space, but it's done up well so you don't feel cramped.

We placed our orders and watched in awe as our ice cream was rolled.

My son got the Berry Blast:

It had chocolate and berries mixed in, plus a mixture on top. He said it was delicious.


My husband ordered the Churro:

I tried the Oreo one:

I took a bite out of everyone's even though they groaned at me. I think my favorite is the Churro. I'd do that one the next time. Mine was good as well. There were bits of Oreos mixed into the ice cream.
