Ugh. Flu season. And cold season. I always dread getting sick. I simply don't have time for it. I don't like to see my kids sick. I especially don't like seeing my husband sick. He's not totally dramatic, but sometimes he can be, and I'm not exactly the nurturing type.
I have tips to help support your immune system this season, because again, who has time to be sick?
1. Pick up Rainbow Light multivitamins. They have a bunch of different ones and they work well. I've been using them for a while, and so far, no sickness. *Knocks on wood*
I make sure to take one daily, and my kids do as well. Also, my husband. They help me have more energy, which is also a win.
I especially like the Gummy Vitamin C Slices. Not only do they taste good, but they seem to be working to help support our immune systems. Yup, they are gluten-free as well!
2. Wash Hands. I mean, duh. But sometimes you do have to remind kids. My daughter will be all, "Yeah, I washed my hands," and I'll be like, "Then why do they smell like old cheese?" Make sure you wash for at least 20 seconds.
3. Grab some hand sanitizer. My daughter has some clipped to her backpack. She says the kids at school are gross and will sneeze all over the place. But don't go nuts with the sanitizer. Sometimes germs are okay.
4. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy. I always have a glass of water beside me. My kids bring re-usable water bottles to school. My husband has his giant thermos of water. Eating healthy can be tricky, but I try to always have a salad with dinner. Also GARLIC has been known to help battle the flu, which is a win for me, because I put garlic in nearly everything I make.
5. Don't forget the multivitamin! Yeah, I said that above, but it IS important. We take ours in the morning so we don't forget.
My daughter likes that hers look like stars. She says they taste "sweet." I like that there are no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners. They are also gluten and soy-free.

And most of all, here's to a flu + cold-free season.
I got my flu shot yesterday!
ReplyDeleteFlu season is always killer for me. I can't get the flu shot due to being immunocompromised so I definitely rely on the people around me trying to stay as healthy as possible. One top of a multivitamin, I found ArmaForce has been super helpful at keeping my immune system somewhat functioning.
ReplyDeleteMy son is always coughung and sneezing because he stays up too late and lowers his resistance so sleep is so important for health. I have to try those vitamins if they can help in the cold weather.
ReplyDeleteLuckily we always start taking vitamins at this time of the year. Due to health I'm a bit more at risk than usual, but with careful hand washing etc it should go smoothly. Multivitamins for both men and women are a must in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteThe flu is something I never want to experience again, it is just such an awful thing to catch. I definitely need to think about adding some vitamins into my routine to help keep the poorly times at bay.
ReplyDeletePretty sure the number one way is the flu shot.

ReplyDeleteI take my multivitamin, stay hydrated, get enough sleep and exercise and try to keep that flu bug far away!
ReplyDeletePlease not the flu!!! We also take regular vitamins. These look great. I haven't seen them before. I'll be looking for them!
ReplyDeleteMy husband got the flu a couple years ago and I have never seen him that sick. I "suggested" he start taking vitamins to help that and he started after the fact since I didn't get the flu.

ReplyDeleteAppreciate for your sharing which help my children able to prevent the flue well. My friend also refer me to jazzy joy online store for some useful tool to use for children and mom daily. I personally am happy with the goods quality here.
ReplyDeleteAnd I rarely get flu as I take excercite everyday, drink a lot of water and try to use vegetarian and best sushi rice everyday.
ReplyDeleteThe number one for our home is frequent hand washing. My boys are becoming bigger now and starting to develop better self-hygeine. Of course I still find myself reminding them once in awhile.
