Making Things Fun For Seniors

The class of 2020 might not be getting the proper end to their senior year, but you know, I try to make things fun for my son. Since he loves Disney, I had to get him the graduation ears--both, because I might be feeling slightly guilty that he's not getting a real senior year. You can buy the ears at shopdisney.com.

I also ordered him a graduation sign from Etsy.

As you see, the ears are pretty fabulous. Yes, I had him put a graduation gown on. It's not his real one, because we don't have it yet. We'll be picking it up this week and yes, I might tear up.

Anyway, getting photos of my son can be tricky, and he doesn't get all the poses I'm talking about.

For example, I asked him to look thoughtful and he was like:

Then I was all, "Look excited!"

And then I went, "Could you look happy?"

It might take a few tries, but I eventually get some good shots:

And then we tried on the other graduation ears and he got silly again:

He tried the thoughtful pose again:

So senior year might not be typical. But you know, so long as you make it fun and show the seniors that they matter, it'll be okay. They'll feel special and they'll be reminded that they'll go off and do some pretty fabulous things because they know all about change and adapting.

Here's to the class of 2020!
