To All The Teachers

To all the teachers out there: thank you. Thank you for all you do.

My son has autism, and we've had so many wonderful teachers throughout the years helping him along the way.

My daughter can be wild and lazy at times, and she's had patient teachers who knew she could be so much better than what she was putting out.

Thank you for being there for all the children who need you. School is sometimes the only safe place they have. Thank you for going above and beyond and using your money to buy so many supplies. Thank you for doing this for the love of your students and not for the pay, though I do believe you should be paid so much more.

It does not go unnoticed. Especially now, when things are so different. But one day things will go back to normal, and the students will be noisy and begging their teachers to do a Tik Tok dance again, and maybe, just maybe, more people will realize how amazing teachers truly are.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you.

My kids put together this video for all the fantastic teachers out there:

  22. It was really nice to see you all on video and put a voice to the photos you kept posting. Indeed, teachers are doing an amazing job that parent's don't really understand. This quarantine has showed them how essential teachers are in sculpting children's behaviors, not just teaching them.

  34. I loved the way you have put it out here. Great teachers engage students and get them to look at issues in a variety of ways. ... They keep students motivated with varied, lively approaches. Great teachers form strong relationships with their students and show that they care about them as people. Great teachers are warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring.
