I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.
Hey, It's Okay....
.....to be going to see Beetlejuice with my kids this weekend at Flix Brewhouse. I love that they show older movies for a cheaper cost. They'll be doing it for Christmas too! We hope they'll be showing Elf.
....to be trying a new recipe in a few days. I found one for Salisbury Steak. It can go either way. I can be pretty awful in the kitchen.
....to currently be reading I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman. It's about a mother and daughter going on college tours--you all know how teen girls can be, so there are ups and downs!
....to be glad that Natalie is enjoying In Person school. She started 2 weeks ago and says things are "fine" because she's a teen and doesn't like to expand. But trust me, if she were annoyed, she'd let me know.
....to be so proud of my son. As most of you know, he has autism and started college this fall. It's virtual for now, and he's been doing awesome. He has As and Bs, and he self advocated for himself and set up his own disability meeting.
Great job to the kids! Gabbie is starting in person next week now.
ReplyDeleteOh I love Beetlejuice, such a good one to be seeing. And it warms this mama's heart to hear your kiddos are doing well with school. This year has brought so much uncertainty.
ReplyDeleteHi it's Brenda from RubyHemMinistries.com I'm proud of your son. I personally know how hard it is to advocate for yourself. I'm working on my masters and have my own health concerns. I recently had to advocate for myself too.
ReplyDeleteAw how awesome is that of your son it sounds like he is doing incredibly with college and it is great Natalie is liking school too. I remember the days of telling my parents nothing but fine well lol.
ReplyDeleteYour son is amazing and it is so nice to see he is doing well in college. I like old movies and watch them whenever I can on TV.
ReplyDeleteOoooooo I lvoe this challenge! And I love that you are so mindful about doing this. Today I am okay knowing that I have to go back into my office in two weeks and that I'm going to start slipping in other areas now that I won't be home all the time.
ReplyDeleteTrying new recipes is always fun. Glad to hear that school is going well for your kids
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that your son is doing well with virtual school and your daughter is loving in person school. My kids are still home. Someone at the high school just tested positive for covid :(
ReplyDeleteSo happy for your son! For me, I would say it's okay to be suffering from chronic migraines because I truly believe it will get better in time!
ReplyDeleteSo much going on that's really good for you and your family! I'm so happy to read this and learn more about what's going OK in your world. I must read that book, sounds like something I'd enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBeetlejuice is one of my FAVORITE movies. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely okay to try a new recipe everytime. I do it so often.
ReplyDeleteI love trying new recipes! Sometimes it's the best way to discover new family favorites!
ReplyDeleteWow! Flix Brewhouse is aswesome! Hope they will play Elf, too! Congratulations to your son! He is now a big man.
ReplyDeleteI am trying new recipes all the time. If you follow the exact recipe, it can't go wrong :) I've had some lovely dinners recently, all cooked by myself, including Vietnamese pho, spiced coconut pumpkin soup or beef rendang.
ReplyDeleteYou have got a lot lined up! I am very happy to know that things are going great for both kids.
ReplyDeleteBeetlejuice sounds like so much fun! I was obsessed with that movie growing up and probably know it word for word lol. And that's amazing about your son! He sounds like an awesome young man!
ReplyDeleteI think it’s great they are getting to do some in person school! Some normalcy is nice. I also have a son with autism. I hope yours has continued success with virtual schooling this year!
ReplyDeleteWow, good job to your son. My two-year-old boy has GDD. I hope he becomes as successful ss your son when he grows up.
ReplyDeleteTrying new recipes is one of my favorites! I love following along and hearing about your autistic son and his journey. My sister is developmentally disabled and my brother in law is autistic so it's so inspiring to see. Sounds like he is doing amazing and love that he's advocating for himself.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your son. Such a proud mommy moment!
ReplyDeleteI love these it's ok posts! Awesome job to your son!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Nat is back in school. It must have been sop hard on the kids before.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great post idea and very infectious! You reminded me about how much I liked Beetlejuice and how my kids might just be old enough to see it now.
