Whew.
Let me tell you, I had a CRAZY week. I live in San Antonio, and we are not used to snow. 3 inches is nothing to you East Coasters, but it's something to us. Thousands lost power. Water. Grocery store shelves were bare.
But it wasn't all bad.
I mean, we got snow. This doesn't happen often. So while it was a tough week, it wasn't completely terrible.
It started falling in the evening, and it was real snow. Everyone in the house was excited.
When we woke up, we marveled at all the snow on the ground. When it snowed briefly in 2017, there was hardly any.
We weren't as thrilled when the power went off at 4 AM the next day. (It came back at around 3 PM)
And when the snow fell AGAIN the following day, we were pretty much over it, but still went outside because, well, SNOW in San Antonio. Who knows when it'll happen again?
So yes. It was a whirlwind. It was something I never want to experience again and if I do, I hope my husband is home. (He's currently deployed.)
My daughter absolutely loved all the bowls of snow she got to eat. She didn't even do the ice cream snow recipe. She just likes it straight up. (Oh and yeah, if you didn't notice, she enjoys dressing up.)
Lots of laughter.
And the knowledge that we made it through.
Glad you managed to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the snow and happy you didn't lose power for long! We have over a foot on the ground and, thankfully it doesn't stop us up here. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am glad you saw it with a glass 1/2 full perspective. I. moved to Colorado and I hate the snow so much hahahahah!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are such great sports and seem to be loving this snow, I hope everything gets back to normal for you asap.
ReplyDeleteI love your snowy pictures. Ours has all thawed now and we've got horrible grey sky. The kids had fun from the sound of it!
ReplyDeleteI love your positive outlook on this all. I think if it snowed in FL, we would all feel the same way! Glad you guys are safe and had enough to eat!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to see the silver lining, even in a terrible situation! As a Northerner, my heart has gone out to you all. We are prepared up here with pipes buried many feet under the ground, snow plows, and winter gear, but I felt so sorry for you all trying to deal with it without proper equipment.
ReplyDeleteAww...I am so glad that you still had a great week with your kids playing with the snow. I love seeing these happy photos.
ReplyDeleteHaha you made such stunning pictures out of the power shortage that went there.
ReplyDeleteTexas sure did have a rough few days! I am glad that your kids were able to make the most of it and enjoy themselves!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been so crazy all over the place recently. I'm looking forward to a nice spring lol
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it through. I always watch the news and what happened in Texas was really heartbreaking. -LYNNDEE
ReplyDeleteIt is great to find joy and excitement in unexpected happenings.
ReplyDeleteWe've been getting random snow on & off for ages. I wish it would just pick a lane!! But I'm so glad to read that you guys powered through. x
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy how much snow everyone has had. it is all melting here which is nice for my driveway but many people are worried about flooding. It was fun to play in though.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is enjoying having the snow. I'm glad you were all able to find some joy in it, even though you lost power and such. I hope all is going well over there for everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you guys made the best of the situation for sure and making wonderful memories along the way.
ReplyDeleteYou have lovely pictures, congratulations
ReplyDeleteThese photos are great! I'm glad that you were able to enjoy yourselves and weren't without power for a long time.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS! I'm not a snow person and I live in Kansas..... You definitely made the best of it!
ReplyDeleteWow! I am glad to know that you still enjoyed the snow! It's really cold, though! Your kids look like they were really having fun.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you had power. We lost our power for almost 32 hours, kids couldn't enjoy the snow as it is so cold and freezing inside the house.
ReplyDeleteThat crazy memories will definitely one for the books! I love how candid the photos were! The kids really had fun and loved the snow!
