Spring Cleaning: Teaching Teens To Do Laundry

This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.

It's finally Spring which means time for Spring Cleaning. In this house, it means telling my teenage son to gather all the dirty clothes he's had wedged under the bed throughout the year and wash them. I refuse to do this because A) yuck and B) I know better than to look under a teen boy bed.

My son doesn't really know how to do laundry--I mean, yes, he knows the basics, but not the details.

This is where Biz Stain & Odor Eliminator comes in. It cleans up to 80% better than a detergent alone, plus it fights stains. And with my son's old clothes shoved around his room, this is needed. We have both the liquid and powder.

He used the powder on one load and everything smelled MUCH better.

Then he tried the liquid, which works just as well as the powder. Both the liquid and powder are made with biodegradable surfactants. If you prefer to use your regular detergent, just add some Biz to boost the powder. He washed his sheets, which needed a cleanse TERRIBLY.

I think my son understands laundry a bit better now. I did ask if this means he'll stop abandoning clothes around his room and he said yes, but I'm not holding my breath. He still needs to tackle the rest of his room, which isn't HORRIBLE, but there are some cobwebs in the corner.

If you're working on Spring Cleaning, pick up Biz Stain & Odor Eliminator which is available at most stores. I will be washing some loads of outgrown clothes with Biz and then we'll be able to donate them. This helps with some clutter, which is a huge plus.

Have you started Spring Cleaning yet?

  3. I have never used Biz detergent but if your son uses it I am on board. It is nice to see our college kids doing their chores.

  4. I remember those days but for some reason my son picked it up pretty quickly. Guys don't seem to have to worry about delicates like girls do.

  5. We taught both of our kids how to do laundry. It's a skil they'll need when they're out of the house AND it saves a ton of work when they do their own.

  7. I need to try this for the dog's bed! She threw up on it yesterday and our regular detergent didn't get the stink out.

  22. This is so important to teach the kids. It teaches them responsiblity, makes life easier for parents, and of course, they'll have to do it on their own when they move out.

  23. Laundry is a life skill that everyone should know! I was amazed at how many freshmen didn't know how to do laundry when they headed out for college. Biz sounds great, especially for those stinky clothes.
