Getting The COVID Pfizer Shot With My Son At HEB

Okay, so when Covid vaccines first became available I knew I was going to wait. I kept hearing about the crowds and I was not in the mood to wait around. Plus they were available at places I didn't want to drive to. So I decided to wait until they were available nearby.

H-E-B made an announcement that they would be offering the Covid vaccine as a walk in Monday-Friday from 3-5.

They made it simple: it's just at the pharmacy and there will be signs telling you where to go.

My son Tommy is 19, so he was able to get the vaccine as well. We both filled out some paperwork and then waited for our names to be called.

We only waited about 10 minutes. Tommy was a little nervous about the needle but realized it didn't hurt much at all.

The worst part about the first shot for us was the sore arm. But it's been a few days and they are no longer sore. I hear the second shot is the one that can knock you out a bit. Our second appointment is later in the month.

If you still need to get a Covid vaccine, check places around you. Many are offering walk in options.

  2. I am fully vaccinated. I also did Pfizer. I did have a bit of a sore arm and I told the pharmacist when I got the second and he had a lot of good tips. I slept a lot of the second day, but not much else happened.

  7. Good for you guys! I got the J&J shot a month ago and the shot itself hurt way more than I had anticipated, like a bee sting. Then the immune reaction kicked in 8 hours later and knocked me out but the next day was gradually better and by the day after back to normal! 100% worth it for me and the community <3

  11. It's great to see more and more places have the shot now. One of the churches near me were doing free shots for covid. I thought that was wonderful.
