Sometimes I feel like I spend most of the day in my car taking kids to and from places. Natalie is in theatre so she stays after school. I drive Tommy to college classes. He has autism and isn't comfortable driving. 

We do like spending time as a family. Sometimes we can't always do this at the same time though, but it still works. We'll sometimes watch movies or we'll put on a TV program.  A show we enjoy is Young Sheldon (on now on every weekday on the local station here in San Antonio).  It's about Sheldon Cooper, a child genius, and his family. He lives with his parents, his older brother George who isn't always the brightest, and his twin sister Missy who isn't a genius, but is hilarious. Meemaw is Sheldon's grandma who helps out and gives advice. 

Tommy relates to Sheldon's quirkiness. He does not relate to Sheldon being a whiz at math. He wishes he were a whiz at math because it would help him a ton in college. (By the way, Sheldon starts college at the age of ELEVEN! I was still playing with Barbies at eleven.)

I relate to Sheldon's parents, especially his mother, who only wants the best for him. As Tommy got older, I wanted to be sure he'd be okay. I didn't want anyone ever being mean to him just because he had autism. Sheldon's mom doesn't want anyone to be cruel towards Sheldon, especially because he's skipped to high school and then goes to college at a young age. 

Natalie also loves the show. She relates to Missy, Sheldon's sister, who speaks her mind. While she might not be a genius like her brother, she's smart in many other ways. 

It's always nice when we can all watch together. Even the cats join in!
