It's officially 2022. 2021 wasn't a terrible year. I mean, my husband came home after being gone a year. I got to back to Walt Disney World. True, I had other trips canceled due to Covid, but hopefully I can do them in 2022. I never make resolutions. Instead, I find it's easier to make a list of things I resolve NOT to do...
I RESOLVE TO NOT...
.....stop eating my junk food. Oh, of course, it's bad for me, blah blah blah, and I do limit it, but I can't imagine a life without McDonald's. Or Diet Coke. I say this every year. Maybe one year I'll be like "It's all about kale and quinoa and kombucha now" but I highly doubt it.
.....stop shopping at Target. I probably should as I tend to get a overexcited, but it's my happy place.
.....stop reading. I mean, duh. Reading is my favorite. Sometimes life gets busy but I always make time for reading. Instead of getting on social media, I pick up a book. More people should do this.
......stop correcting basic grammar. I'm sorry but it's YOU'RE WELCOME and if you write YOUR WELCOME it makes me twitch and wonder if you passed elementary school. If English isn't your first language, you're excused. But if it is, for the love of McDonald's fries, learn your vs you're and while you're <---(see? easy!) at it, breathe vs breath.
.....stop trying to grow my social media accounts. It can be tricky. But I always try!
.....stop standing up for my kids. My son has autism and if anyone messes with him, watch out. My daughter is pansexual and loves to dress up in various costumes. If anyone tries to tell her that it's wrong, I'm coming for you.
So do you have things you resolve not to do?
I always love that you do this!
ReplyDeleteI do like junk food but most of it I can't eat due to food allergies. I resolve to enjoy eating out again now that I have emergency medicines.
ReplyDeleteJunk food is my weakness and it’s such a nice treat on a whim.
ReplyDeleteI love this list! Everything on it is great and you shouldn't stop doing any of it. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG I've thinking the same about junk food! I've been eating healthy and dieting for almost two years (I had a lot of weight to loose and I wanted to do it slowly) but the other day I had mcdonalds and I was like: I'll never be a 100% healthy fitness person, junk food is just too good. XD
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine my life without MacDonalds either. It's one of my happy places but I try not to eat a lot
ReplyDeleteI'm always learning from you! I'll look up pansexual and make sure I am aware and know what is appropriate. The world is quickly changing!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be able to stop reading either! My goal last year was 25 books, I read 30. I've always love reading, I don't have a specific reading goal this year because I am focusing on other goals but I will keep track of what I read for the year.
ReplyDeleteI resolve not to drink any more sodas... So hard but i'm gonna try again this year.
ReplyDeleteWho could give up McDonalds? That is simply unAmerican LOL! Also I learned all about pansexual after a episode of Schitts Creek... sad that I had to learn about it from television but I did.
ReplyDeleteThe breath Vs Breathe thing is such a common misused mix up! I'm glad it bugs you too! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great route to go when it comes to resolutions! Sounds like it is easier to stick with these ideas than the traditional approach.
ReplyDeleteI don't do resolutions either, but I love the your idea of the "to not". My to not's would be reading, traveling (as long as it's safe), and beach walks.
ReplyDeleteI am celiac so I don't really eat out to much but I do tend to eat cookies and other types of junk food that I need stop eating so much of it lol
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting idea to write a list of what not to do. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI eat junk food too. Yum! And you're right about the YOUR vs YOU'RE. I see that a lot on Facebook and TikTok. -LYNNDEE
