So I admit, dyeing eggs isn't my idea of fun. It can get messy and I'm just not one of those parents who are all, "Oh yay, I get to craft with the kids!" I mean, I will if I'm in the mood, but it's rare.
However, my kids like crafts and they like dyeing eggs. They are 15 and 20 so they are quite capable of setting everything up on their own, but their version is setting up is putting the dye tablet in my nice cups and not setting down newspapers so stains get on the tablecloth so I have to help. Or supervise, I guess.
And by supervise I mean read from the couch. I had no desire to dye any eggs. I was all, "have fun," and started to read.
The kids made some fun eggs though. I liked Tommy's Joker. He said it was the Joker from The Dark Knight.
Natalie made Batman. We saw The Batman and now she goes around saying, "I'm vengeance," in this deep voice.
She also loves Gilmore Girls, so she made a Luke egg. She says she knows it's not the best but it captures the ESSENCE of Luke Danes:
The back of the egg:
I think my favorites are the Mario themed eggs though:
I'm glad they had fun, and there wasn't too much of a mess. But I do recommend getting the dyes with the cups included. That way you can easily toss everything out.
Do you dye eggs?
Oh I love these. If I had the grandkids around I would die eggs with them. I miss this so much.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved dying eggs with the kids but they outgrew it. Looks like I can get them to do it again!

ReplyDeleteYep, this is so my kids. My boys like using crayons on their eggs.
ReplyDeleteI love these! They did such a great job. We don't always dye eggs each year. Usually just if the kids ask. I think it's fun, but it definitely can get messy.
