I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.
HEY, IT'S OKAY....
.....to have not celebrated the 4th of July because I can't celebrate a country that takes away women's rights. I swear, if they go for birth control, there will be a battle.
.....to be bummed that our England/France trip didn't happen. I'll explain more about that this week.
......to currently be reading The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. It's about Marissa Bishop, who has cheated on her husband. She confesses and wants to make it right. So they hire Avery, who is a well known therapist, to help. But things don't go as planned. Things aren't always what they seem, I'm discovering as I read. I'm halfway finished.
.....to want to see the Elvis movie. I hear it's a good one.
.....to have enjoyed exploring the National Museum of Natural History while in Washington DC. There were a lot of neat things to see and it's free!
Sorry to hear your trip didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteI love the museums in D.C. I believe most of them are free. My favorite was the Art Museum!
ReplyDeleteYes, I didn't really celebrate. I took my dogs for a walk, painted and we made hot dogs.
ReplyDeleteA huge bummers on your trip not happening. I hope that you got your money back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the words of inspiration. I hope you'll be okay. Its okay for me to not go out yesterday because I need to rest too.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand, it’s really hard to celebrate when you know there’s nothing to celebrate because they take away women’s rights.
ReplyDeleteWe also didn’t celebrate 4th of July still I got a lot of work to do. I’m sorry to hear about your trip.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with these. It's okay to just be true to yourself - regardless of the situation.
ReplyDeleteYes it was definitely a blah type of feeling this 4th of July and I also did not do our typical celebrations.
ReplyDeleteI hear that the Elvis movie is good too and now I wanna see it too. Love your it's okay blogs.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the trip can still happen in the future though!! :)
ReplyDeleteI want to see the Elvis movie so bad!! And The Golden Couple sounds super interesting :)
ReplyDeleteAll these things are totally okay to me. I also didn't celebrate the fourth of july this year
ReplyDeleteThat really stinks that your trip did not happen. I always celebrate 4th of July as my family was military and I will not disservice them.
ReplyDeleteI didn't really do much to celebrate the 4th of July. However, my son and I did go watch a firework show. I didn't want to let him skip that this year.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will be able to go on that trip soon, it seems like you all looked forward to it a lot. Great you enjoyed D.C. though. Thanks for sharing! Lavanda MIchelle
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for Elvis movie too! It's next on our list to watch!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to the museum of history in DC. Sounds like a great place to visit. I've only been to the one in NYC.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your trip. And I agree, I wouldn’t have celebrated either
ReplyDeleteSorry about your trip being cancelled. I hear air travel is currently a nightmare to avoid at all cost. You just have to go next year and add Germany to your list ;)
ReplyDeleteI too have been feeling very unpatriotic this season, which is very unfortunate. I have always loved my country but lately I have become very disenchanted with it.
ReplyDeleteI've heard good things about the Elvis movie also!
