We always love going to Disney Springs while visiting Walt Disney World. There's so much to see and do. Natalie and I had a goal when we went: to see the door from Titanic (the 1997 movie) at Planet Hollywood. Thanks to YouTube videos, we knew it was located in the one at Disney Springs. We had tried to go the year before but were told we needed a reservation to see the props.
Boo.
So this time I made a reservation.
Now, I'll be honest, I won't even be showing what we ordered because the food at Planet Hollywood is basic.
However, they do have fancy milkshakes. So if you want to see props but don't want to get a meal, get a dessert.
There are lots of fabulous props. We love Beetlejuice, so we were excited to see this:
We saw Home Alone props:
And Madonna's costume in A League Of Their Own:
But the most exciting thing ever?
The door from Titanic.
Natalie freaked when she saw it.
You see, I was obsessed with the movie around her age. I saw it in theaters a number of times. I passed on my love to the movie to my daughter. I mean, I have been quoting it at her all her life. "I don't see what all the fuss is about. It doesn't look any bigger than the Mauretania."
She didn't want to leave the door. "I love you just so much!" (It's no wonder she's in theatre. She is dramatic.)
And yes, we both think Leo and Kate could have fit on it. On Mythbusters it was proven that they could have both fit.
Before the movie came out, I was obsessed with the Titanic. I mean, the story of the unsinkable ship being sinkable was a draw. Plus you think about all those people who died and it's a heartbreaking story.
We eventually had to say goodbye to the door. "Leo touched this!"
But the door wasn't the only excitement. Planet Hollywood also has one of Judy Garland's dresses from The Wizard of Oz. Natalie LOVES Judy Garland. Not only because of The Wizard of Oz, but she's seen some of her other movies and loves her singing voice.
If you love movie props, Planet Hollywood is a fun place to check out. While we were there eating, there was also sing-a-longs to popular songs. (Think Sweet Caroline) So it is an enjoyable spot if you love the movies.
There are Planet Hollywood's all over the world so there's a high chance there is one by you. Have you ever been to one before? If so, what's the best prop you've seen?
This place is fantastic I have never seen any place like this. It looks like a museum and the painting in it are amazing. I want to visit this place because there is a lot of information in it that I can learn.

ReplyDeleteI love that she knows and appreciates Judy Garland! There's a line from Titanic that gets quoted around here that I'm not overly fond of, all in good fun, and that is, "you're so stupid, Rose." My name is Rose. -_- That was a great movie though, super hard to watch. A lot of heartache.
ReplyDeleteI am a movie prop fiend, too! And I agree, they absolutely both would fit. PS I heard that James Cameron admitted that they would. LOL
