We went to our very first ComicCon over the weekend. Of course I had heard about them before, but had never attended. The Superhero Comic Con & Car Show came to town and we picked Sunday to attend. Some people do all 3 days and get the VIP pass.
There were some pretty big celebs in attendance. Kit Harrington. (Jon Snow from Game of Thrones) Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones.) Elizabeth Olsen. (Scarlet Witch.) Andrew Garfield. (Spiderman.)
Plus many more big names.
We opted to see Andrew Garfield because each of the celebs cost money and we are not made of it. Andrew is all we could afford. You could either do a photo op or autographs. Or both, if you had the extra dough, which we do not.
There was also a movie car show going on, so we checked that out.
There was the DeLorean.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle van:
The Deadpool car:
The Batmobile with my boy Michael Keaton as Batman:
The Ecto 1:
The 1993 Jurassic Park jeep:
The Iron Man car. Oh, and Tommy is dressed up as a Persona 5 character:
There were more neat vehicles as well, from Transformers, to Lightening McQueen...
Not only were there cars, but we found some neat photo ops:
This Moon Knight cosplayer was so sweet:
There are tons of vendors set up and some have props you can play with:
In between all of the fun, we met Andrew Garfield. I'll do another post about that. But here's Natalie in line waiting and trying not to freak out:
We also saw a Q & A with Hailee Steinfeld of Hawkeye and Gwen in Spiderman Across The Universe, plus many others. I love her Pitch Perfect, personally. We watched her while we ate popcorn. There were several stands set up with different tins. You can get unlimited popcorn!
Would we do another ComicCon? Yes! The only drawback is that they can be pricey. We were lucky in that they offered a military discount for entry tickets, so it helped.
What did we buy? Well, we found these Rose & Jack Funko Pops. I wasn't going to buy them, but after we left, Tom talked to the vendor owner and cut a great deal if we bought both.
Have you ever been to a ComicCon?
I have never been there and after this I so wish to visit one. This seems to much fun.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had an amazing time at your first ComicCon and Car Show! The lineup of celebrities and the movie car show must have been exciting. I enjoyed reading about your experiences and the photos you shared. Attending ComicCon can be a bit expensive, but it seems like you made the most of it and had a great time. Thank you for sharing your adventure!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a blast! Now I understand why my daughter drives 6 hours to attend them in Dallas. She always dresses in costume and people ask to take pics with her. She has some photos of herself with celebrities. After seeing this, next time, I’m going with her!
ReplyDeleteMy boys would love this show. To be able to see the cars up close is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun! I have been to a small comic con, but nothing like this. Love the pics!
ReplyDeleteI haven’t been to comic con. I’ve considered going as a photographer but not sure how to get media passes.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds absolutely amazing and a really awesome experience for sure! Can’t wait to let my kids see this
ReplyDeleteWe've had ComiCon in Toronto, but I don't think it included the cars. That's so cool you got to see some of these cars from well-known movies!
ReplyDeleteThe Delorean ....!!! That's so amazing! I mean, it looks like there were a ton of other amazing things to see, but I'm not sure anything else can top the Delorean, in my opinion 😊
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Tommy and Natalie thoroughly enjoyed themselves! I've never been to a comicon and I'm not sure if I would but I know a handful of my kids and grandkids would likely love to attend!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, looks like you all had a great time at The Superhero Comic Con & Car Show 😍. I wish we had such shows in MK. I would love to go there! Great photos 👌🏻
