One of the perks at staying at the Beach or Yacht Club is access to the gigantic pool called Stormalong Bay. You might think, "what, you share with another resort?" but trust me, it's so large that you won't even notice.
Before you can even enter the pool, your Magic Bands are checked to make sure you are staying at one of the resorts. See, people try to sneak in and use the pool. I even witnessed someone trying to get in and the cast member politely told them they had to be staying at the Beach or Yacht Club to gain access.
You'll get a band showing that you're allowed to be there.
First off, there's a sand bottom pool section.
There's even a mountain of sand that kids can climb on and play with beach toys. My kids did this. That's them over on the mound.
Oh, and what was I doing? Relaxing on these. There are plenty scattered around.
While sipping on Diet Coke. I highly recommend getting the Refillable Mugs whenever you visit Walt Disney World. You get free refills of sodas and coffee for the duration of your stay at the resort. it's $21.99 and you keep the cup and get as much caffeine as needed.
There's also a Lazy River section with floats to use. My kids loved this.
There is a hot tub. And yes, there is another where it's only for adults. This one anyone could use.
I love the details of the pool:
We spent several hours there. I just drank my Diet Coke and read a book. There was a pool bar nearby with booze and snacks. And Diet Coke. So I'd just make my way over, refill, and head back when needed.
I never felt like the pool was overcrowded.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, there's a giant shipwreck slide:
As you see, the area is not busy at all. There's tons of chairs. Make sure you explore the area because there are some neat spots. And there are random times where pool games are played.
If you're on the fence of where to stay while at Walt Disney World, keep Beach or Yacht Club in mind. You'll get access to this wonderful pool! I believe it is open from 7AM-11PM. You can see the fireworks from Epcot!
This was certainly the best resort pool we've ever seen although the one at Port Orleans French Quarter was pretty cool with the dragon slide.
My grandkids went there this summer with their parents and they loved it. They said it was well worth the stay.
