I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.
HEY, IT'S OKAY....
.....to be glad Natalie is enjoying her time at Theatre Camp. She's a student leader this year--she works on the social media aspect in the thespian group, so she's excited to take that on.
.....to have enjoyed seeing Rain: A Tribute To The Beatles with my Mom, my kids, and my daughter's boyfriend. It was such an amazing show. It's perfect for Beatles fans.
......to be currently reading Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle. It's about Daphne, who oddly started getting notes with ending dates with each man she's dated. Only this time, when she meets Jake, she doesn't get an ending date on the note. Does it mean he's The One? I'm almost finished and I am curious if Jake truly is The One or perhaps the strange power she has been receiving went away? We shall see.
....to actually NOT be okay with having my daughter take graduation photos. I mean, yes, I'm happy she did them, but oh man it stung a bit to see her in the cap and gown.
I can relate to you. I just went throught this process with my younger son. I can say I lost it. But it a great opertunity for her.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to your pain of taking Natalie for graduation photos. My last two kids are going to be a junior and a senior.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your "Hey, It's Okay" post! I'm glad Natalie is thriving at Theatre Camp. Also, the Beatles tribute show sounds fantastic—we are huge fans too! The bit about your daughter’s graduation photos resonated deeply; it’s such a bittersweet milestone. Our oldest is about to leave to start their 3rd year in college & it's OK to not be OK with that (yes, we ARE happy for them). Thank you for sharing these heartfelt moments!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine the graduation photos. I'm so not ready for that, but I know that will be coming a lot sooner than I think.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest is 13 and it’s crazy how fast time has flown by. He is starting 8th grade but it won’t be long before he is a senior too. :(
ReplyDeleteYour little ones are all grown up and it flies by way too fast right!? I love your daughters pictures above....she looks incredible and you have done a great job ;) My daughter loved beoing a part of the tehater crew as well in high school and I hope your daughter has a blast!
ReplyDeleteI understand your feelings about seeing your daughter in her grad cap and gown. They grow up so fast, right?
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed this post! It’s comforting to hear that it’s okay to embrace imperfections and be kind to ourselves. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteWe just had our senior photos as well. What a crazy realization that my kid is now a senior. Glad to hear Natalie is enjoying acting camp.
ReplyDeleteoh i recall that earlier in the year, and now we are working on packing lists for her dorm room as she will be heading out to college for her freshman year soon
