Natalie has loved the movie Tangled since she was a little girl. She had the entire movie memorized at one point. She probably still does.
She had a Tangled backpack when she was in Kindergarten. And we kept it and miraculously it survived throughout the years.
Seniors have a tradition to have backpacks of their favorite childhood characters. We immediately thought of the Tangled backpack that sat on the shelf in Natalie's closet. She always kept it close.
It was as if it knew it would be needed again one day. I'm amazed because all her past backpacks looked horrible by the end of the year. Broken zippers. Smells. Rips. But this one still held up.
My heart squeezed a bit as I pulled the backpack from the closet. I remembered how she was nervous about Kindergarten so I told her to act like Bullwinkle like Joey Gladstone suggested to Michelle in Full House when she was scared to start school. She ended up making a lot of friends and loved Kindergarten.
I couldn't believe that she once wore the backpack as a little girl and now?
Now, she'd be wearing it as a senior.
Aww this is a cute back pack. I don’t remember if my youngest had a character backpack growing up. Right now he has a laptop bag that has a lock on it. I’d totally support him wearing a character back pack if he wanted one.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see her favorite childhood backpack withstood the trials of time! Hope she enjoys it just as much the second time around.

ReplyDeleteI've heard of this new trend! We just had senior ditch day when I was in high school. This is so much better. I'm a 90s kid so my backpack would have been Nala from the Lion King.
