Cool Art At Musee d'Orsay

Did you know the Musee d'Orsay, located in Paris, used to be an old train station?

It's pretty cool to think about. When I walked in I pictured all the people back in the day racing to catch their trains. I'm sure there were tearful goodbyes and cheerful hellos.

This Statue of Liberty, created by the original plaster model by Auguste Bartholdi is there:

Degas was a wonderful artist and it was neat to see the statue called Dancer Aged 14:

We are huge fans of Monet. We love his use of color and yes, many of his original works are here:

All the sculptures are impressive as well. (And don't forget to look up if you visit. The details are beautiful.)

Be sure to catch the free concerts if there is one going on. We caught this woman singing opera. She was inspired by the songs by the paintings behind her.

Oh, and yes, Van Gogh is there too!

Seriously, you can spend hours at the Musee d'Orsay. I recommend stopping in if you visit Paris. I believe everyone under 18 is free.

Oh, and we totally had to get this card set, because, well, Gilmore Girls reference. This painting wasn't in the museum, (I believe it is in Boston) but other Renoir pieces are.

I promise, even if you find art boring, there is still something of interest in the museum.

Have you ever been to the Musee d'Orsay?
