Waking Up Late On Christmas

I won't even lie, it's pretty blissful to have older kids.

I don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn on Christmas. In fact, I usually have to wake THEM up now.

They stumbled down around 9 AM, and we saw Santa had arrived.

And what do you think was Natalie's most exciting gift?

If you said Stretch Armstrong, you'd be correct.

She's always loved him. She had a smaller version as a kid. I think he broke. Or we lost him. I'm not sure. He was just gone.

Over the years she was like, "I need another Stretch Armstrong," and I'd be like, "Uh, okay dear." I figured she'd drop the issue.

But she never did. So I decided to get him this Christmas. And she was thrilled.

He is satisfying to stretch, I will say that. Stressed? Tug on Stretch Armstrong!

Tommy was amused by this sign. He says he's putting it on his dorm door:

And Natalie was jubilant to find Billie Eilish items as well. I think the level of receiving them was the same as Stretch Armstrong, if I'm being honest.

After gifts, we had brunch with my Mom, and Natalie discovered she did NOT like lamb. I don't like lamb either. It has an off taste. It was a buffet, so there were other proteins at least.

We had a fantastic Christmas!

And Ruby loved her gift she got from my parents! She has a special spot to judge us all now.

  1. My teens would have loved to wake up late on Christmas. This year we had breakfast at my daughters and they grumbled about getting up early.

  2. I was super sick with laryngitis and bronchitis before Christmas. I still needed to get a few things for my son because I hadn’t finished shopping. I got his main present before Thanksgiving and ordered a few clothes from SHEIN (men’s section). I had gotten a $50 gift card from Target for buying the meta quest virtual reality set (his main gift). So I was going to get a video game but they were very picked over. I ended up getting him another pair of jeans instead. Then I went to dollar tree for gift bags, tissue paper, and energy drinks he likes. Then off to Kroger to get candy and cookies to bake. I came home and wrapped up his goodies. Then I purposely only gave him three bags (all clothes). After unwrapping it, I told him I must have forgotten a bag so I grabbed it from its hiding spot so he didn’t know I got him his main gift. I had put the candy and energy drinks around it so he wouldn’t be suspicious at first. Then he spotted what he was really wanting for Christmas. I had him convinced that the store sold out and that I didn’t get it for him. He was super thankful.

  3. OMG, my son had a small Stretch Armstrong which broke. I didn't know they did larger versions. He would be over the moon too if he was give one of those.

  5. Oh wow, you guys had such an amazing Christmas! I love your mom and Natalie's outfits. Somehow, here in the UK, I don't like the lamb's taste too. In India, lamb tastes so much better!

    Everything Enchanting 🩷

  7. I can't believe they still make Stretch Armstrong! It's been such a nostalgic toy for such a long time. That being said, I've never actually seen one in person. I'll have to get my hands on one.
