"I'm freaked out," Natalie told me seriously as thunder rumbled in the distance.
She's never been a fan of storms.
"You'll be fine," I assured her. Then I remembered something. "Hold on," I said. I rushed downstairs and retrieved the item. I handed it to Natalie and said, "He'll protect you."
His name is Sgt. Sleeptight and he protects children when they sleep. You can buy one at www.zzzbears.com.
He's super cuddly and Natalie immediately was a fan.
What you do is take the sign and place it on your door:
Then you read the Sleeptight Oath:
And then, hopefully, your child accepts that Sgt. Sleeptight will protect them.
In the morning when your child has (hopefully) slept through the night without any issues, they are awarded the Silver Slumber Star!
Natalie told me seriously, "The thunder didn't scare me at all because I had this bear."
Since Sgt. Sleeptight did such a fantastic job, she wanted to feed him breakfast:
You can buy your own Sgt. Sleeptight for only $29.99. Your purchase comes with a bear, the door sign, and six Slumber Star Stickers. If you run out of the stickers, no problem, you can buy more packs for only $5.
I also liked this sleepover drawstring bag for only $10:
Children Of Fallen Patriots Foundation. They will donate a minimum of $50 a month to the foundation.
If you have a child who is afraid, see if Sgt. Sleeptight will help them out! Or, perhaps if they have a deployed parent Sgt. Sleeptight can help ease their fears. I know Natalie would have used the bear when her Daddy was gone.
