That Time Our A/C Broke During The Summer

So.

We just moved into our house last month.

Tom informed me at 6 AM when he was getting ready for work that the A/C wasn't working.

I was like:

The thing is, in our contract, we asked that the A/C be serviced. And it was in May. Everything checked out. So I don't know what's going on.

What I DO know is the A/C isn't working and it's 99 degrees outside. We're in Texas, land of HOT. So we're all like:

I'm joking. I don't want to traumatize the kids. But I AM like:

Luckily we do have a home warranty so someone is coming out this morning. Let's hope it's nothing major. If it is, I'll be like:

I'll be sure to post on Twitter and Facebook with the news. Think good thoughts.

  1. I'm sure they will get it fixed up! This happens all the time in the summer here. My parents have a new addition to their home and even that ac goes out. Sometimes it's just from running it too hard in these summer months. Ours went out after we moved in and it was just a blown fuse. Here's hoping he fixes it and your back to normal by noon! Xxoo

  2. That is the worst. Ours broke but it was after we had lived there for a while. It took a week to fix though and that was the worst. I had fans but they were so loud I couldn't sleep.

  4. Oh my gosh! I wouldn't feel bad about going on Amazon and ordering myself a hydraulic cooling suit if that happened. You do what you gotta do...

  5. Mine went out about 6 months after living in my house. Once they got to me it only took about 20 minutes to get it back on.

  6. Ah, you've given me a great idea for a post on my blog...how we survive on The Poor Farm without AC. Of course my children are grown and so if I go off the deep edge with heat exhaustion only our lifestock is here to witness. AND we live in the country, so smelling bad is expected.

  7. Ugh, 99. Ours broke before our big annual birthday bash last summer. I was in panic mode. Luckily it worked out and not only that, it was strangely not hot that day. Only 65! WTH.

  9. We only usually have aircon in cars and public/work buildings here. We're currently having a bit of a heatwave with an outside temperature of 27-30°C - I guess that might be a little chilly for you?

  10. TX in the summer is THE hottest. And I've been to other states during that time like AZ, NV, but TX took the cake. That's the worst!!!
