Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

**Posting this early because who knows when Tom will share his laptop again**

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. I think I’m going to do this every Tuesday now. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

Hey, It's Okay....

To still not like seafood even though everyone around you keeps insisting that you'll suddenly like it. Tried shrimp again while at the beach and guess what? Still don't like it.

To wonder why people put on full faces of makeup while on the beach. Isn't it going to either A) wash off or B) melt off?

To have wanted to slip my cousin's child, who wasn't allowed to have a s'more, a piece of it. Everyone should be allowed to have a s'more.

To have watched Despicable Me and was the only adult who laughed at the fart humor.

To not mind going to Hooters. Sure I wish I had bigger boobs but eh, if the food is good, I go.

To be amused that Tom is excited about the new Starcraft game coming out. I was all, "Now you know how I feel when a new book comes out!" (I cannot wait for the new Shopaholic book.)

To have been trying to understand how to use the other features of my Nikon camera. It can't stay on Auto forever. My cousin is trying to teach me and was saying something about putting it on manual and to set it to 0 and go from there.

To miss my bed. We return home on Thursday.

To not have been able to watch any Big Brother while here. Is that annoying Rachel still there?

To have eaten 3 Krispy Kremes for breakfast. Hey, there aren't any stores around where I live.

To hope that the house doesn't stink. My mother-in-law is meeting us at the airport when we fly in so she can say goodbye to Tom before he leaves for Korea. I wonder if I can run in and go nuts with the air freshener before she enters?

  1. I loved that movie! I have to say I laughed the loudest when they were running through the tunnel and one of the Chicken Nuggets(Kyle said they look like chicken nuggets so that's what we have been calling them)grabs one of the other ones, squeezed and shook him to make him light up like a glow stick! IT CRACKED ME UP!

  2. Well, it's quite normal to enter a house that's been closed for a while and say, oh! it smells of fusty ;)

  3. They're coming out with a new Shopoholic book? WHEN?

  4. I'm with you on the seafood. Shrimp is gross. I dunno if it's the texture or the smell of shrimp that makes me gag.

  5. LOL. You and your fart humor! I giggle at you every time.

  6. I yikes seafood!

(more for me, but if you ask nicely, I'll let you have my Kripsy Kremes)

  7. I feel the same way about sushi as you do about shrimp. I love shrimp and pretty much most seafood, but I hate sushi. And I've tried it several times.

  8. It is okay to miss your own bed. I always miss my bed when I am away. Hope you have a great time and have a safe trip home.

  9. I have bigger boobs than almost any waitress in Hooters but yet I still don't frequent the place because the food is simply awful.

And yeah, I totally don't understand wearing a ton of makeup to the beach (or to the gym for that matter).

  11. YES Rachel is still on Big Brother and no, she did not get nominated last night. It was such crap. (I'm very sorry for the spoiler if you didn't really want to know!)

  12. A couple of things . . .

I had smores for breakfast on Sunday . . . What?! I had them with a glass of milk! See? All better.

    Despicable Me was hilarious!

I went to a Hooters once. It was a shame that mine were bigger than some of the servers . . .

Yup . . . Rachel is still there . . . Annoying as ever . . . And kissing up Brendon so much it makes me want to hurl!

I'm gonna be driving by Krispy Kreme on the way home now and it's all your fault.

    Hope you're doing ok! :)

  13. I have a similar issue with olives...everyone else likes them, and I continue to try them every once in awhile...and I still hate them!

  14. I loved Despicable Me! It was so funny!

  15. I hate seafood in general. Hubs swears it's because I've always lived in the midwest, but when we visit the ocean I always try something and still don't like it.

  16. What kind of parent doesn't let their kid have a s'more?! That's almost child abuse (not seriously, of course).

I don't mind Hooters, either. Although I wouldn't go there with kids.

  17. Why is it when you tell people that you don't like seafood that they say "not even shrimp?....try some shrimp." Hello...shrimp comes from the sea as well. I'm with you...hate all seafood - bleh!

I've been gone for 3 weeks so I have missed all of Big Brother..so sad!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I would have totally slipped that kid a s'mores.

And right after I typed that I thought "OMG! I'm turning into my mother!" Who did the exact same thing after I told her not to! But he was only a year at the time and, in my brand new mother opinion, didn't need the chocolate. Now, of course, if the the kid isn't mine....what's the harm?

  19. my ex played starcraft, probably still does, and just hearing that word makes me groan! Youre a good wife to put up with that

  21. One should never pass up the opportunity to eat fresh Krispy Kremes as often as possible.

  22. New shopaholic book? I'm pumped. Hope you are enjoying your vacation and that your house doesn't stink.

  23. If you need any advice with the Nikon, I would be happy to help. I always tell beginners to set the camera on Aperture Priority (A) and then adjust the aperture manually while keeping everything else the same. That way the camera auto-focuses and auto-manages the ISO, all you have to worry about is changing the aperture to suit your needs. If this sounds like Chinese, feel free to email me! :) camile@exartephotography.com

  24. I haven't seen Despicable Me yet! Definitely on the To Do list! Also haven't watched any Big Brother this season. Too busy blogging! Which is probably better for me!

    ReplyDelete
  25. You crack me up all the time girlie! I love your posts and look forward to them every day! Tell stingy Tom to share more (oh and watch the kids while at the beach -LMAO). Anyway, thanks for the laugh and when you get home on Thursday is when we leave for our vacation to Florida that night after work - I can't wait! 10 blissful days away from work - YAY!!! Enjoy the rest of your trip - oh and I LURVE seafood and am really looking forward to it once we are in Florida! YUM! :o)

  26. I don't get the whole make-up scene at the beach, either. When I winter in AZ, there are a couple of old ladies who wear full face make up in water aerobics. Uh, hello, can I splash you?

I LOVE seafood. Sorry, I have to differ with you there!

Krispy Kremes? They are so light that 2 count as 1. Seriously. Yummo!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Not allowed to have a s'more!? Unless that's for medical reasons, I don't get it! And now I want some, a craving I don't think will go away until I have chocolate!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yup, I'd have slipped the kid TWO s'mores, just on principle. And I thought Despicable Me was hilarious--talked the kids into going with me to see it a second time: )

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not allowed a smore? That's just criminal. And I am certain that shrimp are really just the cockroaches of the ocean. And who wants to eat a cockroach!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Mmmm, Hooters wings and Krispy Kreme's with a s'more chaser. Yum.

OK, I confess, I put on eye makeup before I go to the beach but in my own defense I'm a redhead and my eyelashes are invisible! Oh wait, I'm a redhead, I avoid the beach!

  31. Totally with you on the seafood. I just started telling people I was allergic and they quit bugging me to try it. Probably won't work if someone who knows you're not allergic was there to rat you out.

    ReplyDelete
  32. ..haha...i enjoyed and loved the read... Blessings!!!(^^)

  33. I love coming here b/c you give the best It's OK.

Let us know about Korea, and the sad farewell..

We are here for you, it may help a little, right?

    Thinking of you...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I am the only one in my family and circle of friends that does not like seafood. Blech. And I COMPLETELY agree - everyone should get a little s'more!

    ReplyDelete
  35. We used to hit the Hooters in SD, and the girls there were definitely not (how to say it politely?) well endowed, rather their t shirts fit very tight, and very straight.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Why would any child be denied a smore. I'm a little worried about that.

    ReplyDelete
  37. YA! I don't understand why girls wear makeup on the beach either! That's nuts! I had a friend that did her makeup, and did her hair really nice...just to go to the beach. She never went in the water (um hello? why would you go to the beach and not in the water???). I don't get that.

    ReplyDelete
  38. yep! even with my love affair of makeup.. i think makeup on the beach is STUPID!!!

now.. now.. now.. i cannot believe you don't like seafood.. that blows my mind.. i guess i thought everyone loved it.. lol

    ReplyDelete
  39. I usually forget to take my make up off before the beach, and then i'm struggling to wipe my mascara off my face!

    I AM AN IDIOT!!!

btw you know my love for your tuesday posts! They are the high light of my day!

  40. I was going to say the beach make up wearers have another agenda, but then I thought of my own mother putting on make up before going to the gym at 6 am, and she didn't have a secret agenda that I knew of. Never Hooted personally, but I loved the South Park in which Butters fell in love with his "Raisins" waitress because she flirted with him, even though she never learned his name. Beside the point, but now I'm laughing in my head.

  41. Can't wait to get there. Can't wait to get back home! Make up has sunscreen darling! Not that bad an idea! We went to a place like Hooters in Amsterdam. It was funny really. Alex was too embarrassed to look at the girls!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yep, Rachel is still there! Bummer huh? I won't be a spoiler for you but it is getting good! :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Um, I went to despicable me and wasn't with a child. Just two adults. Laughing at the fart jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  44. there is a new Shopoholic book coming out? *squee*

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love this idea...I won`t copy you, but it's a good idea to say "it's ok"...mentally making a list...

  46. What Nikon do you have? I got the D60 for Christmas a couple of years ago and I'm muddling through. I should probably read the three manuals that came with it and watch the DVD. :P

    ReplyDelete
  47. Every child must have a s'more at least once!

    Rachel is still there...Blech!

I am sure your house doesn't stink. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I don't like seafood either! Especially shrimp. I cannot stand the texture. Ick.

I do love Krispy Kreme though, and share your woe of not having one nearby.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I HATE seafood too. And people totally do that...offer it to you and don't believe you really don't like it. Ugh. No really, I will puke on you if you do not remove the shrimp from my personal space.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm totally with you on the seafood thing! Eeek!

OK, I have one that will probably be very unpopular but here goes...

To absolutely HATE cats! There I said it. I feel much better now.
