Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

-----------------------

To crack up while watching The South Park movie. It is so inappropriate, but I love it.

To be cleaning like mad since my Mom is coming on Wednesday. It’s funny but when I was younger and my Mom would be cleaning for HER mom’s visit I’d be all, “Why bother cleaning? Just let her see how we really live.” I understand now.

To be glad that we aren’t getting slammed with a blizzard. Sorry to those who are but don’t worry, our time will probably come.

To pretend that calories don’t count in December.

To hate when a chocolate box isn’t labeled. If it’s not labeled, it means that I’ll bite into the coffee flavored one and I HATE coffee flavored anything.

To not really enjoy It’s A Wonderful Life. The plot sounds lovely, but I can never sit through it. And normally I don’t mind black and white films. I mean, I love Miracle on 34th Street but I could never get into It’s A Wonderful Life. I try every year.

To pig out on the rolls they give you at Texas Roadhouse. I’m sure the waitress gets irritated having to bring a new basket every few minutes.

To not be surprised that Miley Cyrus was caught smoking salvia considering she gave a grown man a lap dance when she was underage.

To have been a little disturbed when my grown neighbor said, “Zac Efron and Vanessa broke up. Now Zac is free.” And she licked her lips suggestively. *I backed away slowly…*

  1. I clean for my mom's visits too- and was the same way as you when I was younger!

YES about the chocolate. They need to always label. Always.

    Happy Tuesday :)

  2. I agree with you about It's a Wonderful Life. That is the most depressing move EVER. Sure it has a happy ending but geez...

Miracle on 34th is my all time FAVORITE Christmas movie. Original version, b&w preferred :)

  3. Calories definitely don't count in December. Or November. Or October for that matter. ;)

  4. Even when the chocolate box top is labeled, the chocolate is placed in such a way to look the same in either direction, and I always get the thing upside-down. Blasted chocolates. Foiled again!

  5. I need a map to my chocolate. I so appreciate what you're saying. I'll squish it with my fingers to see what's in there. Your coffee is my coconut.

Calories don't count in December, but they add up in January. lol

  6. My mom comes on Thursday. Yup, cleaning like a mad woman.

  7. I totally agree with clenaing for mom thing...

I hate unlabeled chocloate too...I bet it cost liek a penny for one of those labeled sheets....they are a MUST!

  8. That last one is no different than the middle-aged moms drooling over those Twilight kids.

  9. Wow, I thought I was the only person on the planet who doesn't like "It's a Wonderful Life"! Glad I'm not alone ;)

  10. Calories don't count in December. Good luck with the house cleaning.

  11. i have never sat through its a wonderful life. And I do the same thing when my mom comes over and she lives a block away, lol. It's a daughter thing. And I'm pretty sure that it's in the Geneva Convention that calories don't count during holidays, when family is unexpectedly visiting, and/ or when your children have large stashes of candy.

  12. I am so with you on the chocolate. I do NOT want coconut!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. As always you are right on! I'm still twitching from last year's piles of snow. I'm hoping DC gets skipped this year.

  14. to not like Charlie Brown's holiday shows. ugh. My husband loves them and will insist on watching the Christmas one and will make me watch it with him... stab my eye out with a fork!

  15. I am not a fan of the assorted choc boxes, but i find it hilarious to take a bite out of each one of them and not finish the other bite.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wait, calories count in December? Dang it!

    ReplyDelete
  17. These are hilarious as always!

Zac is a free agent? Oh, I have to clean up some drool...excuse me!

  18. WHAT? You don't like coffee flavored things? I'm OUT!

Fine, not out, but I do lurve that flavor, in spite of never having drunk it in my life.

Anyway, Calories most definitely don't count in December, but I like to pretend they never count. Which MAY explain why my butt keeps growing. Hmmmmm.

Thanks for another excellent Tuesday morning.

  19. "smoking saliva"?

And I don't get the fascination with " It’s A Wonderful Life" either...

  20. I love this feature in Glamour! Your version is even better.

When did all the middle-aged women get together & decide it was okay to ogle all the teenage or practically teenage boys?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love it. Thank goodness my mother does not visit. And yes, there should be a map of the chocolates.

  22. It's a wonderful life is my Christmas movie. I know for a fact that I am going to boo hoo twice in that movie. It has got to the point where I am tearing up before the parts even happen.
    <---dork

  23. By the way, do you know where one could find Miracle on 34th Street in black and white? My boyfriend's mother can't find a copy anywhere that isn't in color, and she's even looked on the internet...

  24. Excellent! Calories don't count in December.

My mom always tells me "don't worry about cleaning like I did when Grandma visited! It's ok!" But, I have to. Everyone has to.

  25. Your neighbor is creepy as Hell . . . LoL!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I totally agree on the chocolate boxes and It's a Wonderful Life. That movie just depresses me, for some reason. I'll watch it every year though, because then I don't have to watch A Christmas Story. I freaking hate that movie. (and yes, I am aware that I am the only person on the planet that feels this way. But Hey, It's OK, right?)

    ReplyDelete
  27. As much as chocolate is yummy, I've learned if I don't know what's in it, it's not worthy of me eating it.

    Ick!

And, your neighbor? She should come equipped with an alarm to warn you she is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's been a while since I've seen it, though I remember laughing hysterically the first 10 minutes of that movie.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Im practicing the whole calories dont count thing this month too...my ass will thank me later

    ReplyDelete
  30. My dad used to say the "show them how we really live" line all the time when I was little! He just never got it.

    Ah, memories.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Calories DON'T count in December!! They don't, they don't, they don't!
(and yes, I'm stamping my foot as I proclaim this).

Sorry, can't agree with you about It's A Wonderful Life - I LOVE that movie. But sadly, I watch it alone every year as my guys both can't stand it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Your grown neighbor story made me giggle. :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. We are not hosting Christmas Eve for the first time in forever this year so I'm not cleaning at all. If I find a dust bunny, I'm going to tie a bow on it and hang it on the tree!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Coffee = yuck!
    Creepy neighbor chick = yukier!
Blizzard + Lake Effect in Cleveland = HELP!

Tuesdays with you are the best!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm with you. Snow can wait til after Christmas, and the mail volume has died down. There is nothing worse than trying to get Christmas packages delivered in 3 feet of snow and ice.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am thankful that I didn't get the blizzard either! And your neighbor sounds a little scary about zac..... Ewe

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have never been able to sit through It's a Wonderful Life either. I always feel like such a Christmas loser over that. AND I also love Miracle on 34th Street! One of my faves! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Loved this post! I clean for ANYONE who is coming over but ecspecially the rents. I heard about Zac and Vanessa - he's a little young for me. I cant get through It's a Wonderful Life. I am not counting calories or even paying attention to them at all..I hope December ends soon!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm going to have to disagree with you on "It's a Wonderful Life". Respectfully, of course. I'm a Jimmy Stewart lover, more than the actual movie lover. I have this thing for the handsome (and unfortunately, mostly dead) actors of the past (like Charlton Heston, Paul Newman, Yul Brenner, Sean Connery...)

    Wait.

    What was I talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Calories don't count in December...so, enjoy! We all do! Also, best Christmas movies are Christmas Story and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! And....we all clean when the folks are arriving. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love "It's a Wonderful Life" I make my husband sit through it every year. My favorite christmas movie.

I wish calories didn't count in December

    ReplyDelete
  42. OH Good.....I tried to watch "Its a Wonderful Life" and I couldn't get into it and didn't care for it.
Never watched "Miracle on 34th St", maybe I'll give that one a try and like it.

Love TX Rdhouse rolls too! :)

I LOVE COFFEE Flavored stuff, but HATE Coffee! HA!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I sooo agree with all of these! Except for the Texas Roundhouse thing...we don't have one of those up here.
I don't get why women drool over Zac Efron. Ryan Reynolds is free now. Heeelloooo!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I furiously clean for both my mom AND my mother in law.

I hate coffee tasting anything too.

And I don't get Zac Efron. Isn't he like 12? Not to mention he spends more time on his hair than I do- which is NOT a turn on.
