Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your diary. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either.

----------------------

To be curious on what Matthew Perry’s new show will be like. It premieres tomorrow.

To be glad that John Corbett is joining the Parenthood cast.

To be a little sad that Ace of Cakes is ending. I really like Duff.

To go out the day after Valentine’s Day to buy chocolates for 50% off.

To prefer listening to oldies. One of my favorite songs is All I Have To Do Is Dream by The Everly Brothers.

To have felt sorry for Christina Aguilera when she messed up the National Anthem. She was probably just nervous. I would be. Granted, she should know the lyrics but I know I babble like an idiot when I’m nervous.

To be ready to shop the Baby and Kid Sale at Gymboree.com when it comes online tonight.

To hate when people write ‘ur’ for ‘your or you’re’ in a blog post or on the forum I write at. It’s not going to hurt to spell the entire word out, people. It’s acceptable when texting, not anywhere else.

To have never watched Seinfeld.

To miss the reality show The Osbournes. My fave episode? The one where Sharon threw ham over to her neighbor’s yard since they were being loud. I’ve been known to say, “I’m going to go all Sharon if they don’t be quiet,” when my neighbors are noisy and most people have no clue what I mean. (I wouldn’t throw ham though. Probably a roast.)

  2. I didn't know Ace of Cakes was ending either!!! Maybe we should throw ham at them!! (I loved that episode too.)

  3. I didn't know that Ace of Cakes was ending!

I am totally feeling Christina's pain. I recently had to announce the Pledge of Allegiance over the PA system in a high school, and although I've been saying this darn thing for 25+ years, I totally messed it up! The next day I made sure to write it down so it wouldn't happen again.

And I despise the use of "ur", or any other text-speak in what should be a somewhat professional format.

  4. I never watched The Osbournes but I know all about the ham throwing. And I love it. And 50% off chocolate makes my world go round.

  5. Ah, I miss The Osbournes too!
I loved the way Ozzy stumbled around the house yelling "SHAARRON!"

  6. I'm super excited for Mr. Sunshine. Which means it will probably suck.

And the day after Valentine's beats Black Friday for me personal biggest shopping day of the year. Actually, pretty much the days after Valentine's Day, Easter, and Halloween are all the same. Sometimes Christmas, too. Target has never done me wrong.

  7. I hope Matthew Perry's show is hilarious! We need more good comedies.

And yes, I go out the day after V-day and get discounted chocolate, too.

    ReplyDelete
  8. now I can't stop thinking about Valentine's Day chocolate!

  9. Oooo! matthew perry's new show start tonight! Gotta record that. YAY!

  10. I despise text speak, even in texts. That is why no one can spell worth a crap anymore.

  11. I miss the Osbournes too. My favorite episode was the one where they went to the beach and Ozzy tried to build a fire in the sand. The tide was coming in and he yelled "You f****** a**hole ocean!"

    Priceless.

  12. This post showed me I don't watch enough TV I guess -- none of the shows you mentioned I've heard of, or watched if I had heard of.

    ReplyDelete
  13. JOHN CORBETT = ME HEART HIM. I mean, if I could pick a random celebrity to marry and run away forever and ever with, it would so be him!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I don't get Seinfeld either. Maybe we're too young?

Parenthood...THE BEST SHOW EVER. Goodness, LOVE that. ANd yes, I am excited about John Corbett joining too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I miss the Osbournes too! And I want V-Day chocolates RIGHT NOW. I may justify them as an early b-day present to myself :-)

  16. I heard Matthew Perry's show is supposed to be pretty good. Oh, and I dislike when people use "loose" for "lose". Drives me nuts!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. And no it's not okay to have not seen Seinfeld. For shame.

It's okay for me to shake my head at you frowning. ;)

  18. I'm sad Ace of Cakes is ending too. Cake Boss is a pretty poor substitute. And I totally felt sorry for Christina--people jumped all over her so quickly on the internet for her missed lyrics. Like the rest of us never make mistakes!

  19. Oooh, I've got one - It's okay to think that Tosh.0 is really funny. It's so vulgar, but so hilarious, I almost pee my pants every week.

Also - really? You don't get Seinfeld? Wow. I think the universe just shifted a tiny bit. Dadgum whippersnappers don't know good comedy.

  20. I'm setting my DVR to record Matthew Perry's show. I think he's aged well, too.

    ReplyDelete
  21. to have no idea who John Corbett is . . .

    ReplyDelete
  22. I totally feel sorry for Christina - that's a tough song to sing anyway not to mention the pressure to get it perfect.

And don't get me started on people using "text" lingo in a post.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I love love love the Everly Brothers - so many people dont' even know who they are - but I LOVE them -
they really don't make music like that anymore!!

I love "Wake Up Little Suzy"

    ps- ADORE John Corbett!

  24. Oh, I like this idea, too! I think it's such a nice thing to do. I can breathe easier knowing all of these things are okay. It's nice of you to be so kind to Christina. I don't care if she messed up. I'm sure I would have done the same thing. MILLIONS are watching. Even if she had perfected all of the words, I still would have been irritated. Not a Christina fan, but, hey, that's okay! Right? It is, right?

  25. Favorite Osbournes episode- "Bubbles? Bubbles? I can't have bubbles, Sharon, I'm supposed to be the f***ing Prince of bloody darkness!"

    ReplyDelete
  26. I agree!! I hate when people write ‘ur’ for ‘your or you’re’. It drives me crazy!!!
And I do miss The Osbournes too!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I've never watched Seinfeld either. And I loved The Osbournes. I may have to go out and buy the series.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Christina's not my favorite but I felt bad for her too...how nerve-wracking!

    ReplyDelete
  29. All I Have To Do Is Dream by The Everly Brothers is one of my favorite songs!
I refuse to ever watch Seinfeld. ugh.
    and I love the Osbournes!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Loved the Osbournes as well, missed the ham throwing episode. Why?

Because it is ok not to have cable. Or satelite or even the local channels anymore. Hooray Netflix and Hulu while I save the $$$ instead!

Sienfeld was much ado about nothing. They even said so on the show a few times...

  31. i heard that matthew perry show was gonna be good.

    ReplyDelete
  32. So curious about the Matthew Perry show! Also, I watched Seinfeld, but I never really saw the appeal. Thanks for making me feel less alone ;).

    ReplyDelete
  33. I LOVED the Osbournes when they were on! I can't believe you haven't seen Seinfeld! And we're both excited for Matthew's new show. I love him and want him to be successful again.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Love Ace of Cakes. I didn't know it was ending. I did see Duff on an Imagination Movers episode the other day. He was the muffin man. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm with Hannah... totally not okay that you haven't seen Seinfeld. It is still, in my opinion, the best comedy ever. There is just something hilarious about humor that makes fun of our every day lives. My husband won't watch it, and I told him that I had to carefully consider marrying him simply because he didn't like Seinfeld.

  36. It's okay to... have not been moved by "March of the Penguins"; ...have never watched a full episode of "Star Trek"; ...put the ; AFTER the "; ...keep your toothbrush in the kitchen (hey, I'm an apartment-dwelling single gal; get off my back!); ...save your Fall-Back-one-hour (end of Daylight Saving Time) until Monday morning.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I saw Matthew Perry's show, and did not like it

    ReplyDelete
  38. John Corbett:) But I'm thinking he plays a jerk:(

And I'm recording that new show. Hope it's good!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I was never a fan of Seinfeld...sue me.

    ReplyDelete
  40. No Seinfeld EVER? This is unbelievable! Netflix those post haste! You will laugh.

I miss the Osbournes too. They are all kinds of crazy and so entertaining!

I like John Corbett...he looks dirty dirty in the trailers for his episodes.

Your addiction to all things gymboree cracks me up.

  41. "No soup for you!"

    "Master of my domain"

    "Sponge-worthy"

    "Shrinkage"

How do you even communicate with people??!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Babble when you are nervous? Have to ask Tom, but it must indicate you are nervous a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I buy candy for all occasions only when it goes on sale. Halloween sales are my favorite.

I hate the use of 'ur' anywhere, unless you're out of space and need to eliminate letters.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I do the same thing with the chocolates... I look for the reeses peanut butter cups on sale:)

    I do love Seinfeld, though:)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Got to say I was never much into the Osbornes. But "Family Jewels"... now that's a good show.

    Yup. That's quality TV.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ha! I remember the ham episode. I've wanted to chuck some ham in my time. While I am no fan of the way Christina Aguilera sang the Anthem, I've sang it before in front of a crowd. Alone. That song is a bitch. I can understand her mistake, but she's a celebrity singer...you'd think she would've nailed it.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, how I miss The Osbournes! And I am definitely hitting up the candy aisle the day after Valentine's Day :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ace of Cakes is ending?? I didn't know. My daughter will be so crushed. Her dream is to one day have him design her redneck wedding cake.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm so going shopping for those chocolates after Valentines! "Ur" irritates me too - as you say, write the whole word - it's only 2 more letters!

    ReplyDelete
  50. It is NOT okay to never have seen Seinfeld! Are you crazy? Do you not like to laugh? No soup for you!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm going to miss Ace of Cakes too! Ah, The Osbournes! I loved watching that!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think you are Anti-American for never watching a Seinfeld episode... lol ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. How sad. You have never watched Seinfeld? I still use many line from the show.

    I miss the Osbournes too

    ReplyDelete
  54. I never watched Seinfeld either. I never got it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I remember that Osbournes episode! Most of the time I felt like those shows were more planned/rehearsed than reality. I like your saying, "I'm gonna go all Sharon..." Funny!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ahh haaa haaa I remember that Osborne episode!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ohhh this post is sooo cute, my dear! I love it. Can I also use this on my blog sometimes????? It's okay if it's not. Let me know girl. Love yah!

    ReplyDelete
  58. John Corbett is joining Parenthood? I wonder if he'll still be United States of Tara. And Yes, I wonder what Matt Perry's show will be like, too.

All of these things look pretty reasonable to me.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks for the reminder about Matthew Perry's new show.

I hope it's awesome because I love him.

And I sort of hope it stinks because my DVR is busy enough.

    ReplyDelete
  60. How was Mr. Sunshine? I haven't had a chance to watch it yet :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I love reading your blog. It's how I keep up with what's going on in the world. John Corbett joining Parenthood? That totally made my day! :)
