Avoid Wal-Mart

Are you ready for Easter on Sunday?

I am.

I finished getting stuff from the Easter Bunny and our dinner yesterday.

It seemed like half of Wyoming was in the Wal-Mart Easter aisles with me.

Natalie has an Easter outfit ready to go.

Naturally, I took a bunch of photos.

Yup, the outfit is from Gymboree. The bunny ears are from the dollar spot at Target.

The lollipop is also from Target.

“Uh? When do I get to eat the lollipop?”

I was trying to get a photo of her peeking from behind her lollipop. It didn’t really go well.

Natalie shouted, “Remember when I farted this morning?”

Then she was like, “No, but really, when can I eat the lollipop?”

“I see you!” She was able to try the lollipop after. She did not like it. And she was tired of the bunny ears. So I replaced it with a headband.

Then she ran into the side of the house, as I do to get her to smile sometimes..

“This whole running into the house thing is kinda weird…”

She made farting sounds, because that’s how we roll...

After that, I explained the Easter Bunny to her and she was like, “You mean a bunny is going to hop in my house and leave stuff? I’m confused…”

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Try and avoid the Wal-Mart Easter aisles.....

Trust me.

  2. She is too cute. I did my Easter shopping weeks ago, because I wasn't sure when I would make it back to target. Thank goodness, I did!

  3. I think my son is a little scared of the Easter Bunny's arrival too. Natalie is so cute in that outfit, fart noises and all!! :)

  7. Oh, believe me, I don't need a reason like Easter to avoid Wal-Mart! Well, given the fact that I don't live in a country that has Wal-Mart, that is extremely easy to do, but even if I DID live in the US, I would avoid it...

I love the outfit, it is something my 4-year-old daughter would die for. Crap, now I'm going to spend the next two hours on the Gymboree site...

    Happy Easter!

  9. I read this literally JUST as I'm preparing to go to Wal-Mart. Specifically, the Easter aisles.

Thanks for the warning. Heh. :)

  10. I think you need to find her an agent!

  11. She rocked those bunny ears, oh yes she did! And Kristina is right, you SHOULD find that girl an agent.

I particularly loathe all things Wal-Mart, especially near a holiday. Why oh why then did I put off getting ANYTHING until now. There may be an Easter Bunny missing at our house.

  15. Walmart is cruel and unusual punishment on any holiday. Seriously. It's really awful. Nat's tutu is too too cute.

Sorry. I couldn't help myself. I know that was cheesy. It just came off the end of my fingertips and then I couldn't erase it. Some geek force of punny was forcing me to leave it.

I'm going now. *hangs head in shame*

  20. Those pictures are so adorable. But I really love the running commentary on how you got her to smile. Seriously, kids make you work for a good shot, don't they? Someone saw a picture of my two on the digital frame the other day, one of the only dozen or so where they're both smiling at once. They made some kind of comment about how much fun they looked like they were having together. I just said yeah, and didn't tell them that they were laughing at me for barking and mooing to get their attention.

  23. I was at Walmart at 8am this morning picking up last minute stuff. Shouldn't have waited though since the only kind of jelly beans left were the old fashioned ones. No Jolly Rancher kind or even Jelly Belly's! Natalie is so cute - love the pink skirt! May have to check out Gymboree!

  24. I made sure to have everything I would need from Walmart. I will not be going near there until monday...when I'll try to get a half price easter chocolate for myself.

    Happy Easter!

  25. Awwwww, such sweet pictures!!!! Remember to look at these when she's having her next meltdown!!

I still have to do our Easter shopping tonight at Target. Sigh....

  26. If you are a Gymboree lover (as am I) you just have to check out Mini Boden! Expensive? Yes...but the resale value is amazing and the end of season sales are great. :) You don't have to thank me for the heads up...but you can pass all your son's outgrown clothes to my boys! lol

  27. Adorable! May the Easter Bunny leave you big mounds of chocolate!

  28. Don't tell me that since I haven't bought one thing for Easter yet! As usual, Natalie is as adorable as ever.

  33. Crap. I gotta go to Wal-mart tomorrow. Send good vibes my way so that I don't lose it and stab someone with a chocolate bunny.

  34. Your daughter is so cute and photogenic. I can't believe you got her to stand with the lollipop without eating it! Happy Easter.

  35. I braved it tonight, but then, I'm in a tourist town and not my own... I wouldn't have gone near the one in my town with a ten-foot pole!

  36. Can I borrow her? For one day! I promise I'll bring her back like I found her. The farting and creepy Easter bunny moseing through the house will make us fast friends. Plus maybe she'll let me borrow that super cute skirt! Oh, and I could totally rock those bunnies ears, and since she doesn't want to wear them anymore...
