Hey, It's Okay Tuesday!

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. They have a section called Hey, It’s Okay and will list a bunch of things to be okay about. You're welcome to join in and do something like this on your blog. Doesn't have to be on a Tuesday either. Just make sure you link up and that the post you link up is a Hey, It's Okay Post.

---------------

To not care that all the judges are getting replaced on American Idol. I don’t watch the show anymore. After Simon left, I didn’t see much of a point.

To love McDonalds and defend it when I see other parents bash it. A couple people were upset because they claimed their commercials tend to make kids want to eat there. Um, so? Say NO then.

To take my kids to McDonalds once per week. (Sometimes more.) I let them play in the germ covered indoor playplace too.

To have watched Promised Land (John Krasinski) over the weekend and liked it. It’s available on Netflix.

To be glad Natalie liked her summer dance class. She’s taking ballet/tap. She’s glad her teacher doesn’t yell like Abby on Dance Moms.

To have send Tom his Father’s Day package to ensure it gets there on time. I’ll show pictures in a future entry. Yes, I semi-decorated it.

To be excited to read the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. It’s out today! It's called Revenge Wears Prada.

  1. It's okay that I am already on my second cup of coffee and the school bell has not even rung yet!

  2. There is a McDonald's down the street from my house. We eat there on occasion *gasp!* I was sad last month when they remodeled and took out the play place. That structure had been a sanity saver for me more than once!

  3. Ohhh I wanna check out that book!

  4. The point of a commercial is to persuade you to eat there. I think the parents lost sight of the meaning of commercial. I take my kid there sometimes. I am a firm believer about everything in moderation. I also let her play there. I must be a terrible mother! :)

  5. Yup, don't post until Tom is surprised. Glad Na likes the class, have you tried her in tumbling, seems she is so active that might be interesting for her.

  7. Thank you for the heads up on the sequel. And, nuthin' beats a McDonald's double cheeseburger when you have been overserved some alceehol the night before.

  8. I can't wait to read Revenge Wears Parda! It's on my summer reading list!

I'm glad that Natalie is enjoying dance and that she has a non-yelling teacher!

  9. There's a sequel?!?! Where have I been? Oh and so glad Natalie likes her dance class and that the teacher does not yell. How can you dance when someone is yelling.

And McDonald's is totally okay - I won't judge you.

  10. I get so annoyed at people who get upset with McDonald's. Just say no! Take responsibility for your own life and actions. What are we teaching our kids? Basically that if you complain loud enough, it's always someone else's fault. Sheesh ..

(Now stepping down off my soapbox ...)

  11. P.S. We don't play at the McDonald's near us very much, but I think ours is unusually dirty. Once my daughter went there wearing white tights (dumb on my part, I know), and when we left they were BLACK. Yuck. I'd rather pick up Happy Meals to go and head to a local park ... and get our dirt there ... lol

  12. Totally agree with you on McDonalds...we hit the drive thru with our girls about once a week as well. It's all about balance!

  13. That lady on Dance Moms is cuckoo.

  14. We love McD's and eat there once a week, too. And none of us are obese or have crazy medical problems. Its all about moderation.

  18. I'm not a fast food fan, but something about McDonald's brings back childhood memories of my parents taking me there to let me place in the play place and have a Happy Meal. As much as I am a "fast food hater", every once in a while, I'll have a craving for the chicken nuggets and sweet and sour sauce (along with the childhood memories). My daughter thinks it's awesome when we go there. I hope she has the same sort of memories that I do when she's older about it!

  19. My kids also eat McDonald's, and Quick (Belgian version)... which is why I make them run :) Hey, if they are never exposed to any germs they never develop resistance to them.

  20. Yessss!!

I want to see Promised Land, haven't yet...

We go to McDonald's. Not only did my kids play in the playland, but I would get in it with them! My husband worked there for many years, so he likes to tell us what we could possibly "find" in them... but he still brings us back. My mom used to treat us to a small fry... so we could get some playtime in. A hot fresh batch of their salty fries are so yummy....
