First of all, Happy Halloween! If you celebrate it, I hope you have a great evening. This is our first time doing trick or treating off base, so I hope it's not too insane.
You're welcome to link up with Hey, It's Okay on any day of the week! But please make sure your post has something to do with Hey, It's Okay. Sometimes people link up their regular posts and it confuses me.
Hey, It's Okay......
--To have thought it was cute when Natalie responded like this:
When I told her DanTDM responded to the blog post she really wanted me to write:
--To be ready to go back to my regular schedule. Tom was off for two weeks and while I love having him home, it always throws everything off. I try to get stuff done online and he wants to have a full on conversation so then I have to stop. So I'm currently behind in e-mails. I'm sorry if you sent me something and I haven't replied yet.
--To have written a post over at The Military Wife and Mom about why I hope Tom isn't stationed overseas again. I guess some people are offended that I said this but uh...last I checked, everyone was able to have their own opinion? You can read it here.
--To be confused on the comments on the The Walking Dead Facebook page from people saying the episode was too violent. Did they not read the comics? It basically followed that. I had to cover my eyes a few times, but it didn't bother me because the acting was so fantastic.
--To think it's cool that my kids are over on The Today Show website about awesome Halloween costumes. If you scroll down you'll see them as the League Of Their Own characters.
--To hope the teachers will be okay having the kids be in school on Halloween and then the day after Halloween.
--To have enjoyed my date with Tom over the weekend. My parents took the kids. We're low key so we just went to the outlet mall, ate at Weinerschnizel, and then went to Bucees, which is this giant gas station with a beaver mascot:

Happy Halloween! Hope you have fun trick or treating. My kids do not like all the scary costumes. So we are staying in tomorrow night to watch some movies.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good Halloween on your new base enjoy it and make some awesome friends.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! Loved seeing all the outfits on the Today show!
ReplyDeleteSuper cool that your kids costumes are on the today show and if I got a tweet from DanTDM my kid would implode.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome about DanTDM!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Bucees seems interesting! What do you do there, though? Pump gas? Have fun?? That's enough for me!
My son also loves DanTDM. I don't really get it but I'm going to read your other post to find out. And how awesome is it that your kids are on the Today Show website!

ReplyDeleteGlad you guys had a great date night! Ok, I just read your post over there. Girl ignore them. Your mom is like a Colonel in the airforce right?? I can imagine you've been there done that with living overseas. I don't blame you one bit and when you have kids, you want them to be near their grandparents. That's tough when you're so far away. Just ignore those haters!! People have to be assholes online nowadays and it's really annoying....
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I love that you wrote about the teachers! As a teacher myself, I know that Halloween and the day after are CRAZY! But, it'll all be okay. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween to you! I know what you mean about getting back on schedule. I'm sure it was fantastic to see your hubby, but sometimes you want things back to "normal". Have a great day!

I bet Natalie was so pumped! And I can totally relate to time off and craving my schedule and routine! I hope you have a FAB week :) xo
ReplyDeleteSo cool that your kids are on the Today Show website!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool that you got a reply for that post!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have an awesome Halloween as well :) It seems like you had a very productive week. I'm a Walking Dead fan, too! Also, so nice of the youtuber to acknowledge you guys!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween! Looks like you had a great week! Wish you more good times the coming weeks as well :)
ReplyDeleteI understand how wanting someone around and actually having them around throws off your routine. For me it is when family comes to visit. I have to escape into my room and tell them do not disturb for at least 2 hours. lol
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI'm confuse with The walking dead facebook page too. I'm still crying about what happened. But HEY, IT'S OK!! Hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch The walking dead but it has covered my entire facebook feed. Loving this type of post
ReplyDeleteYep our feelings are valid and we are aloud to ask why things happen when they do.
ReplyDeleteI'm always ready for Kyle to go back to work after time off, we both are haha.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome that the Youtuber responded! How thoughtful! Love the beaver being canadian and all ;)
ReplyDeleteHehe, I just love your "hey, it's okay" series.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is adorable (like I'd keep saying), and it was so nice of Dan to respond to that mention, I can only imagine her excitement!
Love coffee dates with my husband too! Usually we'll go to breakfast or lunch while the kids are in school or take the day off together to just hang out.
ReplyDeleteYour kids were on the today show website?! How cool! That sounds so great!
ReplyDeleteGaaah. It is difficult to get back to regular schedules. We were on a long weekend + an extra day off because of All Souls Day and we're all supposed to be back to the daily grind tomorrow. That is challenging.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that you and your husband still go out on dates - very very important. A lot of couples take this for granted so you guys rock.
Very good post, I enjoyed reading. Great Halloween on my end
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that DanTDM read the post! Hes a cool guy
ReplyDeleteAw, that's so sweet that DanTDM responded to your tweet and said hi to your daughter. And hey, it's okay that I have no idea who he is, lol.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween. I don't like the kids to be in those scary costumes..we just decided to go to the mall :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great Halloween. I love your "Hey, It's Okay" series! It reminds me of the writings of Erma Bombeck!
ReplyDeleteThe Walking dead episode was AWESOME. I mean sure it was violent and we lost some people we'll miss but it was bound to happen. Last season everyone was complaining that Glen never dies.
ReplyDeleteTalk about being confused, this post is confusing me a bit lol. Seems like you're busy blogging and enjoying it though.
ReplyDeleteI really like your hey it's okay.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, same when my husband come home, he throws everything off.
I haven't been watching TWD, but seriously, people know what they are watching and can turn it off at any time. Ugh. Why complain about violence as if the directors need to appease anyone.
Happy Halloween. How fun. My blog was on their site a few years ago. It was fun. The kids are funny.
ReplyDeleteI'm so off schedule from all the holidays this past month. Plus, my kids have practically no school next week.
ReplyDeleteHaving the kids at school the day after Halloween and all that sugar must be tough for the teachers lol. Here November 1st is a holiday.
ReplyDeleteGreat read! One of the things I have learned over the past year is Hey, it's ok is true more often than I ever thought.
ReplyDeleteI bet your daughter flipped out when she responded!!! I love this, kids are all hyped up on sugar from Halloween!
ReplyDeleteGotta love being able to get some time away from the kids.. not that you don't miss them or anything, but it's nice to catch a breather ;)
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are trying to make more time for ourselves. We love to have date nights and just enjoy each other's company. It makes our relationship stronger.
ReplyDeletePeople complain about everything. What do they think the post zombie-apocalyptic world is like? Flowers and unicorn farts? I love that Dan responded. That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't do Halloween but I hope you had a great time. Love the series!
ReplyDeleteWhat do beavers have to do with gasoline?
ReplyDeleteAnother fun "It's Okay" post. Love that adorable reaction from your daughter what movie did you reference from? Is it "My Sister's Keeper"? Walking Dead has always been violent, I don't get why people are reacting that way.
ReplyDeleteGreat series! I feel a little sorry for the teachers this week, it's going to be a long one!
ReplyDeleteHow cool was that The Today Show posted that pic!! A League of Their Own is a great idea for a costume!! And forget those comments on that post - you have lived overseas and it wasn't your cup of tea..!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you were able to go on a date with your husband. Some alone time is always important even when you have kids.
ReplyDeleteI want to go to a gas station with a giant Beaver mascot! LOL! Sounds like an eventful week! I hope the trick or treating off base went well! I'm sure it was fun!
ReplyDeleteawww i love love halloween and have always wanted to trick or treatin. glad you enjoyed some QT with the hubby.
ReplyDeleteWhen I became a parent, I learned a lot of things were okay. So neat that you're enjoying trick or treat and neat about the costumes.
ReplyDeleteMy son loves DanTDM and so this is MEGA cool. I had no idea that he was so chatty with fans like this but after watching a few videos it seems that he is definitely personable. I had no idea what the craze was but now I can kind of see.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! About Me section is HILARIOUS! Have a great day!
