Hey, It's Okay

I got this idea from Glamour magazine. You can link up any day of the week. All you have to do is make a list of what you're okay about. Simple! Please do not link up a post that has nothing to do with Hey, It's Okay. It's rude and I'll delete the link.

Hey, It's Okay....

.....to have let my daughter take her bag of Halloween candy to her room. She's only eaten 5 pieces so far. I've eaten more than she has. I keep asking for some.

....to hope The Walking Dead gets more interesting. I've been pretty bored.

....to hate the time change. It's not cool that it's dark at 5 PM.

....to think it's funny that my daughter is like, "Selena needs to stay away from Justin Beiber. He's toxic."

.....to have had a blast at Main Event. Remember, veterans and active duty military members eat and play for free on Veterans Day. (Learn more here.)

....to still be enjoying the show This Is Us! It's more entertaining than The Walking Dead!

....to love the deal going on at Toys R Us at the moment. If you spend $100, you get a $25 gift card. (Get the coupon in the toy book!) I picked up some Christmas gifts. (Notice that creepy monkey toy that people keep insisting is a hot toy is NOT there. Don't feed into the hysteria, guys.)

  1. I do hate that it's getting darker earlier, it messes up our nightly walks and I'm not a fan.

  2. I used to try to have some hand in rationing my kids' candy but I realize a few years ago that we're both happier if I just let them do whatever they want and when it's gone, it's gone. Some kids eat it in a few days, others stretch it out over months. All I know is, it's not my problem!

  3. Haha, I would so want to take my kids candy too! But when I was a kid, I'd eat like two pieces and be done.

  4. I don't like the fact that's getting dark so soon either... You daughter is funny and I agree with her :)) Selena deserves better :))

  5. I hate the time change in the fall, but I actually like the one in the spring. You give some, you take some. I guess things will even out.

  6. I hate the time change and I had to send all the leftover Halloween candy home with the grandkids. I was about to make myself sick. I don't usually eat any, but this year I was out of control.

  7. I love the toys especially the plushie. I think I should do my own version of this post.

  8. I'm over the Walking Dead. Conversations with your daughter sound interesting and entertaining. The time change sucks. Wish they would leave it alone.

  9. I like that it's not dark right now when we leave for school!

  10. I am right there with you! I think I eat more than my kiddo of his candy! LOL! It's a mom tax! ;)

  11. I'm thankful that we had no Halloween candy left this year, hah! Last night I went to bed at 8:30 with this time change!

  13. I totally binged on This is Us this week. I hadn't seen an episode since like episode 3 last season. OMG. That show had my emotions all over the place. Love it!

  14. I need to watch This Is Us!!!! And I need to go get some shopping done with the deal at Toys R Us.

  15. I think it's nice to let the kids have their candy. They'll manage to control themselves. It's also nice that there are a lot of good deals at Toys R Us.

  16. This is Us is my most favorite show on TV. And I'm still hanging in there on TWD. This getting dark early is for the birds.

  17. My boys have mostly abandoned their Halloween candy at this point. I'm the one who keeps eating it!

  18. This year the time change has really hit me. I did not think it would be bad gaining an hour. I hate that it is getting dark so early now.

  19. Haha I also keep asking for some of the kid's candy. It's totally okay to let the child take the candy to their room- Ive done it too!

  22. I am not loving the time change either. I always hate how early it gets dark after the time change.

  23. I hate this time of year as well. But, I just remind myself that it's only until the Winter Solstice, then the days start to get longer.. Bummer about TWD. Hope it picks up soon! I got my Daryl fix last night with Ride with Norman Reedus.. :-)

  24. The time change was pretty jarring this year! I did think your Main Event experience looked like a lot of fun in your other post!

  25. Ha! Who can resist the power of candy? As far as the time change, I hear you on that!

  27. The toys R US deal looks fascinating. Seems like I would have to give the store a visit sometime soon.

  28. I too dislike the time change! I wish we could just leave our clocks the same all year round. When my husband comes home from work and it's dark outside is really hard to adjust to.

  29. Enjoyed reading this post. Your daughter speaks like a grown up! Ha ha. I also agree with you with watching This Is Us. I can't understand what it is with Walking Dead that make people watch it. Well, that's just me and ITS OKAY. :)

  30. I cannot stand that Daylight savings make it darker earlier. Also I never liked the morbid Walking Dead but love This is Us!!

  31. Time change - no big deal to me. I wish they would just do it one way and leave it though. Candy - still have some around but I only allow myself 1 piece a day - fun size candy bars.

  32. I too hate the time change! Although I do like it being dark earlier it’s just shaken all of us up a little bit but that’s ok... guess it will work itself out! - Jeanine

  33. The time change totally complicated things thats for sure. I just feel totally off.

  34. UGH I hate that it's dark at 5pm. I leave work at 5 and it's always so dreary. It makes going home a little bit depressing.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I want Spring to come back right now! I can't take the darkness at 5pm either.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I wish it doesn't get dark this early and want the spring season to come back soon :D

    ReplyDelete
  37. I didn't give the time change another thought after changing the clocks. Until today, that is, when it was dark before 5pm. Not a fan.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Isn't this time change just the worst?! I felt like you-know-what the other day - it threw me off soo much! Ugh!

  39. I love you list and can totally relate to it. I'm not a fan at all of the time change. The Toys R Us deal is a really awesome one and is a great way to get a bunch of holiday shopping crossed off the list way in advance of the big day.

  40. The selene and justin got me there!! But agree to most of the list above!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Haha this is brilliant! It's totally okay to be real and say what you think. That toy'r'us deal is actually amazing and such a great way to stock up on presents!

  42. Love your attitude of just giving yourself some grace! Life's too short!

  43. You're brave for letting her take the candy in her room. Mine would it until they puked.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's totally okay! Life is all about balance... I will have to check out that Toys R Us deal! My girls love those those LOL babies.

  45. I have yet to figure out this monkey business! ha! Monkey business.
The getting dark at 5 thing is awful. As for Walking Dead, Cassidy stopped watching it that time with the barbed wire bat. That was it for him. He said it moved from being entertaining to making him feel yucky inside.
I've been telling him about This is Us for ages..
