Hey, It's Okay....
.....that it was a struggle waking up after Winter Break was over. My kids and I are NOT morning people, so there was a lot of grunting and confusion going on.
.....to think it's awesome that Rami Malek won for Best Actor and Bohemian Rhapsody won for Best Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes. (Here's why you MUST see Bohemian Rhapsody.)
.....to feel like I'm the only person not jumping on the Marie Kondo bandwagon. My folding skills are terrible and also, my stuff brings me joy. If she told me to get rid of books, I'd whack her over the head with them.
.....to have not made resolutions, but I did make a list of things I resolve NOT to do.
....to have nearly packed salsa in my daughter's lunch instead of the fruit cup. As I said, there was lots of confusion since we are not morning people.
Inlinkz Link Party
I do not have a link but I do have a 'hey it's ok' statement.... "Hey it's OK that vacation is over and you have a East coast jetlag and a cold after going back to rainy California." :)
ReplyDeleteHey, it's ok that I didn't reach my reading goal last year because I still read a lot of really cool books!

(this is a really neat idea!)
I feel you! My whole family are not morning people, and yet, everything in this world starts super early. Sometimes I feel like there should be an entire world/community for us.
ReplyDeleteThis is always happens with my mother. She is also not a morning person. But she use to wakeup 5 o'clock in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI never watched the globes and I also don't have any resolutions since I always fail when I have any so this year, we are just living it.
ReplyDeleteI am not into getting rid of most of my stuff. Yes I go on a binge where I do get rid of items not needed anymore, honestly I like my stuff.
ReplyDeleteI am loving you "Hey, it's ok" series. We really need to affirm ourselves that we cannot be perfect all the time.
ReplyDeleteHa! Love the Marie Kondo one. I'm not interested in her book/series on Netflix. I think it's nice that others want to clean up their home, but you're right. I could NEVER get rid of the books in our home. It's taken years to build that collection, plus, the kids like finding their favs!
ReplyDeleteI want to watch the Marie Kondo show but I don't want to get rid of stuff I love!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Marie Kondo. I've read her book a couple of years ago, and found some really helpful tips though.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't morning people either and it was so hard after these holiday to get back in our daily routines. I didn't make any resolutions last year, however, this year I decided to make one. Hopefully I won't fail!
ReplyDeleteWho on earth decided that everyone should be in school between 7:30 and 9 am anyway? Actually to be fair there are some schools in a country I know that has two shifts, one in the morning and one in the evening maybe they should adopt that worldwide. I am a morning person to heart, love it to bits lol!
ReplyDeleteLike you I did not make new year resolutions, why should I when I know I cant stick to them, really enjoyed your post.
ReplyDeleteLOL we're thinking the same things! I totally agree that Rami and Bohemian should have won. And I watched 1 episode of that Marie Kondo show and I was like, nope, not for me.
ReplyDeleteThat's really great to feel so positive about so many things when the winter break is over! I need to work on myself in this matter. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't hopped on the KonMari bandwagon yet either. I don't think I'm cut out for that intense of a system.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I haven't written a post about Hey it's Okay but I swear I've been saying it alot today! Hey it's okay to take a breather!
ReplyDeleteI am with you on all of this! Your posts really help give perspective on things, thank you!
ReplyDeleteHey it's ok I hadn't been to the grocery after visiting my parents on Christmas Break so I drove through McDonald's. I then unwrapped the cheeseburger and put it in a sandwich container because they aren't allowed to have take out food!
ReplyDeleteYou’re not the only one regarding Marie Kondo. The spark-joy thing annoys me! And I’m dying to see Bohemian Rhapsody!!
ReplyDeleteI love Marie Kondo! I am not a folder, either, but I love the notion that the things you have you love. I love my books, too, so those would never go!
ReplyDeleteRami Malek is just absolutely amazing!!! I love him.
ReplyDeleteGetting up early after a long break from our routine is always bad for us. We are now into week 2 and I am still battling getting them in bed at a good time. Is it bad that I just want them to go to bed so I can watch “This is Us”! I am not caught up yet!
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me so happy! It is definitely okay to not be morning people! I know I definitely still am not! Thanks for this breath of fresh air!
ReplyDeleteHey, it's okay...that I blew some resolutions the first week of 2019. I'll just keep working at it.
ReplyDeleteHey its okay I didn't start going to the gym but at least you stayed vegan ;)
ReplyDeleteOMG! I am so glad to know that I am not the only one that is still struggling to wake up after Winter Break. I think I need another week to wake up in time :)
ReplyDeletePapaya in the fruit cup, yum! I don't even know what Marie condo is all about lol but It's okay.
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard getting back into a routine after winter break! I can totally relate to that. Also, I tried watching the Marie Kondo show and it took forever to get to the part where they take their clothes out of the closet to sort. I hate to say it but the whole show could have been reduced so that it didn't take so long to get to the point. Maybe that's why my house is messy.. I don't even have time to watch the show!
ReplyDeleteThis is something a common expression in everyone nowadays, "hey,Its okay" even in me.
ReplyDeleteMy son is not a morning person either so it's always a struggle for him to wake up and a struggle for me to wake him up. LOL. But it's okay because he's a good student. ;)
ReplyDeleteBohemian Rhapsody deserves it a must see movie. On the other note I am a morning person my husband even joking me like Im like a puppy in the morning so ready to pla hehe..
ReplyDeleteThis series always makes me smile because it just goes to show that it is okay to just live your life the way you want. I totally want to see this movie!
ReplyDeleteI love the linkup. I will be back to add mine. It may be pretty long though, because there is a lot I am okay with.
ReplyDeleteI like the Marie Kondo way of living though. I would love to apply and use her minimalist ideas to start the year. My house is a mess! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on not having made any new year's resolutions! It's okay to just aim for general happiness: being healthy, productive, and planning new travel and adventures with the ones you love.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this idea!! I think we all need to treat ourselves with a little more forgiveness and grace, which can be so hard! Today, I am telling myself "Hey, It's Okay that you had a couple of off-days and are starting over with your New Year's Resolutions. January 9th is just as important as January 1st."
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your blog posts. Hey my kids and I were also struggling this week when they went back to school. I work from home so I was excited to not have to get up early and take them to school. I was able to work in my PJs most days. Now it's back to the madness.
ReplyDeleteTell me about not being a morning person! I am not either !
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to make no resolutions for this new year! I haven't either and I'm also working on hat not to do that pulls me back.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a morning person either. That's why I've worked the night shift the last 14 years. I'm not on the Marie Kondo bandwagon either. I like my stuff.
ReplyDeleteI watch a couple of Marie K episodes on Netflix and I have so many mix feelings, that I stopped!. Period.
