Happily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Party Review

Desserts. I love them. I have sweet tooth so I usually have some sort of dessert every day. When I heard there was a Dessert Party at Walt Disney World, I knew I had to do it.

It's set up in the Tomorrowland Terrace. You either pick the Plaza Garden View or the Terrace View. If you pick the Terrace View, you stay there, but if you pick the garden view, you move out. I'll share more about that later. (We did the Garden View.)

It's not just desserts at the party: you get drinks as well. And there's not just desserts either. There are fruits and crackers and cheese...

When we went to the party, it was set up in two places at the Tomorrowland Terrace: the upper part and the lower. They were both serving the exact same things, but sometimes one had shorter lines, so you could switch off. You get to pick the table that you want and then you get to eat!

Here's what we saw:

Plus a variety of other drinks: juices, water, milk, and yup, that's the popular jungle juice served at most brunches at Walt Disney World.

There is also coffee and tea.

And the food? Oh man.

There was a s'mores action station where the cast member would roast a marshmallow and roll it in graham cracker bits and chocolate. I had so many of these. I lost count at 5.

There was a decorating station where you could decorate cupcakes and cookies. I think this was mainly for kids, since the table was lower, but heck, I wanted to decorate a cookie too:

You could also find fruit, if desserts aren't your thing or if you've eaten like 10 mini cupcakes and now want to be "healthy."

There's also Cheeseburger Egg Rolls, which were amazing:

And now the desserts. There were cookies, cupcakes, brownies, cake bites, toffee cake, ice cream...

I think we got there around 745. The fireworks started at 915, but mind you, this was in June. Times vary in other seasons. You're allowed to eat until the fireworks. I recommend getting to the garden early though, because if the party is sold out, it will fill up. I think we went out around 820 or so. There was already a good number of people out. You're lead by a Cast Member and then checked to make sure you're allowed to be there.

Our spot wasn't the best, due to the plant and the lamp post, but you know, we were still up front, so I wasn't picky.

My son liked that he could stretch out. Granted, he couldn't do this the whole time because about 9 it got more crowded.

It was much more comfortable than to be shoulder to shoulder to people. Plus we could sit. The people in the back did stand, but the ones up front were kind and remained seated so the others behind could see. This doesn't happen all the time, I'm told, so beware. You might have to stand. But it's still not as claustrophobic as it is normally.

If you're curious on what my favorite dessert was, it was this:

The flavor reminded me of the gray stuff at Be Our Guest. I also loved the Cheeseburger Egg Rolls. I ate so many of those.

I also drank many cups of Jungle Juice.

It is $69 per adult, so a bit pricey, yes, but I thought it was worth it for all the food you get. (It's $41 for ages 3-9.) Plus I liked how I didn't have to wait hours to get a spot for the fireworks, nor was I right on top of a stranger. I would do this again, and my son agrees. We felt we got our money's worth from the amount of food we ate.

You can make reservations for the Happily Ever After Dessert Party here. There's also an After Fireworks Dessert Party and it's the same thing, but reversed. I think I'd do that one if we get to do it again. That way I don't feel rushed to get a spot for a fireworks. It's the same price for the Plaza Garden Viewing.

Have you ever done a Dessert Party? Did you also consume many plates of food? Did you wish you had a take home container like I did? Oh man, I'd have loaded those up.

  27. This is such a great idea. You should have sat down and decorated your own cakes as I am sure many other adults would have followed your lead. There is a child in all of us. I think you can even use this idea to have a party at home or in your community.
