Cereal Pancakes at IHOP Review

So when I heard IHOP had cereal pancakes I was intrigued. I figured, okay, I might as well try them out since I enjoy Lucky Charms. I've always had a sweet tooth. I know this level of sweetness freaks a lot of adults out, but I love trying things like this. (But yes, I do jog around the neighborhood.)

If Lucky Charms aren't your thing, you can also get Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Cap'n Crunch flavors.

So they looked really good on the menu, but would they come out that way?

This is what all the pancakes looked like in the menu:

And yes, you can even get cereal milkshakes. I did not:

There are kids meals versions too:

As I mentioned, I went for the Lucky Charms pancakes and they came out like this:

They actually came out looking tasty! Sometimes pancakes come out looking thrown together. I also ordered them with the sausage, bacon and eggs combo. If you wanted, you can just stick with the pancakes.

The creamy cereal milk mousse did taste like the sweet milk you'd find after finishing off sugary cereal. The cereal wasn't stale--I was worried about that. However, these are FRUITY Lucky Charms, not the regular ones. It states this in the menu, but some people might just assume they'll be getting the regular version.

I did NOT like the purple whipped cream. It had a bitter taste. If I ordered these again, I'd ask for regular whipped cream. The purple gives it a fun look, but I didn't even eat it. My kids weren't fans either. (They just ordered from the regular menu. They don't get as excited about new dishes like I do. But they did try bites of the Lucky Charms pancakes and liked them!)

Would I order these again? Yes, if I was in the mood for sweet pancakes. But again, no purple whipped cream. Or I might try the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ones. I believe these are around for a limited time, so if you wanted to try them, hurry in!

Have you tried these yet?

  12. These do not look like something I would eat, but when I showed my 8-year-old son, he was all in. It would be fun to take him to get some.

  19. I haven't been to ihop in so long so I had no idea this was a thing. I have a massive sweet tooth as well although I'm not sure this combination would be quite right for me. The shakes, on the other hand, are definitely something I would want to try out!
