I do get some good shots, which I shared in my When Your Son Turns 18 post, but what about the shots in between? Well, let me share.
For starters, he was like, "What if I weren't turning 18, but 81?"
I was like, "Well, I'd be dead," and he was like, "Then I wouldn't have to take these photos!"
Then he corrected the numbers but had a weird expression:
(For the record, here's the good shot I got with the numbers). Also, his shirt is from Amazon and you can buy it here.
Then I asked him to look excited, and he was all:
After that, he found his sister's hula hoop, and I actually got a good shot from that, but he was distracted by it for a bit. Also, you can buy the birthday sign on Etsy here.
Then he was like, "We should take a photo with my Dundie!" (Have I mentioned he has ADHD?)
He said he wanted to do a "cool pose" next.
I was like, "Please, I just need a regular shot." He did cooperate. It just takes a while sometimes, but we do manage to get some good photos.
So does it take a bit to take photos of the male in your life?
He's pretty funny!
ReplyDeleteI love your son's sense of humor! Your kids are such a blessing I'm sure, and I love how your posts have a flawless sense of humor, when needed. I totally love his shirt too!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I have seen your son grow up so I can imagine how you feel. Enjoy the day and do not feel sad because the days a nd years fly by.
ReplyDeleteI love his posses!!! The Friends banner is a must. Great job mom
ReplyDeleteHaha, this is awesome. I do not have much luck getting photos of my boys.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I can so relate to this post. My son never likes taking photos. I usually have to take several in a row to get one good one.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute photo-shoot though. I think the photos turned out great. And happy birthday to him again!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter does this thing called a "constipated smile". She looks so unnatural, but every time I tell her she's doing it, she cracks up laughing and I get a great smile from her.
ReplyDeleteAhahah so funny, I also love the FRIENDS theme
ReplyDeleteMy son is the same way! Looks like your son had fun with the photo shoot though. =)
ReplyDeleteI seriously enjoy your family so much. I feel like we would get along. Tommy seems like a really cool guy!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure HE wouldn't appreciate me saying this but your son is adorable. His smile warms my heart. Happy 18th birthday!
ReplyDeleteomg the photoshoot is super cute, he is so good at it actually. Well done dude.
ReplyDeleteThose are fun pictures! It is always tough trying to get good pictures on command!!
ReplyDeleteThey're great pictures! It is so hard to get good pics of both my sons!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I feel like photographing kids is really one of the hardest things! You got some great ones, and some that will make you laugh in the future. I hope he had a wonderful birthday!
ReplyDeletePhotographs are so important. Later on you will be looking at these and discussing all the goofiness. Born into a world where photography is so common, I cannot imagine living without my camera or pictures for a day even. The photos are great by the way. Happy bday Tommy. May you have an amazing yr ahead. God Bless. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is also a challenge for me to take decent shots of my sons. They always look either silly or too stiff. I just take candid shots of them and surprisingly, they turn out better. Happy birthday to your son!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to celebrate your son's 18 birthday! I love the Friends theme going on with the signage.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all the fun photos. I really like the whole Friends theme too. I've always loved Friends, so that is great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun photo shoot! My son is 15 so you gave me lots of great ideas! Love all the expressions you captured.
ReplyDeleteI can SOOO relate to this. I have five, ages 19 and up, and getting any one of them to hold a smile for a photo is next to impossible. Oh well, at least they have a sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteOMG! How cute is he! I think these are the best shots!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so fun. Sometimes the out-takes are the important shots because they show more personality and character. They are the moments that are more fun to look back on than the perfect poses.
ReplyDeleteThat is fun photo shot, yes birthdays are fun for them.Getting a good photo with them is always difficult. Happy birthday to your son.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are really awesome! I an't take my eyes off of these. Looks like he really enjoyed posing and smiling for these shots.
ReplyDeleteI love these! How fun! I hope you all had a fantastic day!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are fun!! Happy birthday to your son. Hope he had a fantastic birthday!!
ReplyDeleteLovely Kid!! All the photos came out well. I understand how difficult it is to make a kid with ADHD pose for a picture, but Tommy is such a good son. Please convey my heartiest congratulations to him on turning an adult. The excited photos were hilarious. I am sending him loads of love.
ReplyDeleteHaha love the poses! He look so funny, love all these photos, and happy birthday to him..!
ReplyDelete"Hope your son enjoyed his birthday celebration. You're too good in photography and love the expressions and poses of your son. Can you share with us how you managed with an ADHD child for about 18 years. In my Music institute in Coimbatore, we celebrate the birthdays of all the students.
