Tips On Wearing A Mask At Walt Disney World

When we went to Walt Disney World, we knew one of the rules that we'd have to wear a mask. We were fine with that. We're all about staying safe and keeping others safe as well. I know masks aren't always the easiest, especially when it's about 90 degree out, but I have tips to make things smoother.

1. Make sure the mask stays over the nose. Try on the masks before you arrive because the cast members will say something if the mask dips below the nose. I saw them correct people many times while we were there. I know some masks run larger than others.

2. Take several masks. You will sweat. It will also rain at least once per day and your mask will get wet. I picked up a package of 25 so I could switch out in the afternoon. Then I'd throw them away in the evening when we were back in our room. If we had reusable masks, I'd wash them.

3. Be sure to take breaks. It can get hot. There are Relaxation Stations throughout the parks where you can remove your mask and rest.

4. Yes, you still need to wear masks if the PhotoPass Photographer takes your picture, but have fun! We still did. The mask photos will be a great reminder of how things were during a pandemic.

5. Don't let masks ruin a fun vacation. Yes, they can be a pain. But it's possible to still have a blast. So put one on and enjoy yourself! Don't dwell on something small.

Most places these days require masks, and if children can wear them, so can you. I found that I forgot I had mine on most of the time. I'll continue to wear my mask, and so will my children, not only for our sakes, but for yours as well.

After all, Mary Poppins appreciates it.

  12. Tip number 2 needs to be framed! Lol. I love that you mentioned this because I can't imagine people wearing just one mask for the whole day, all sweaty, while running around Disney World–or any other park. I also did not know that you had to keep it on for the PhotoPass photos. Great tips!

  22. I just think it's something we're going to have to live with for a while now. It can take some time to adjust, but we have all been doing fine with it. It's sad to see so many having to wear masks, but I definitely understand too. I just hope that it doesn't have to last to much longer.
